Tips for frizzy hair after wash?
Hello! I posted a while back about the restoration of my childhood Samantha. Well, not long after she unfortunately got a sticky eye. This weekend, with the help of my father in law, we successfully replaced her sticky eye! (The metal part was badly rusted, so thankfully we just had to swap that part out.) While her head was off, I decided to re-wash her hair. I initially used shampoo and conditioner that I had in my home when I originally restored her and restrung her, but this time around I had the wig shampoo and conditioner that DollsByKris recommended in his hair wash video. I followed his instructions, washed and conditioned her hair, and placed it in rollers to dry overnight. I used a little bit of steam from a hand steamer to set the curls.
Her hair still feels a bit straw like on the ends, and there are still frizzy pieces sticking up on the top of her head and around her hair. What can I do to fix this? I watched IDreamofJonny’s extreme restoration video of a white body Samantha with hair that was in much worse condition than mine, and it turned out beautiful! I like to hope that I can achieve a similar result. Do I need to go in with a hair straightener? Will that get rid of the frizz? And then re-curl her hair? That is the only step I did not try, using a straightener on low setting. I know I can never make her return to her factory hair, but I want to return some shine and softness to her hair. When comparing it to my JLY43’s hair, it’s such a noticeable difference in feeling. I understand that there’s about 20 years difference lol, but still.
Long story short, are there any specific tips for managing frizzy hair, even after a wash? Is it just a straightener? Do I just need to do several washes? Thanks!
