Blocked half finished sweater - dye bleeding and yarn colour change 😢
I've been knitting a jumper for the last month and just finished the body, I thought I'd give it a quick block to check the length/fit. I block in lukewarm water and a nice wool wash, leave it for 30 minutes and I see a heap of grey dye has run out into the water and when I pull the sweater out it's gone really pink 😭
The yarn is a blend of wool and recycled sari silk and I can only assume the sari silk has bled while the grey dye wasn't properly set and immediately all washed out...
I've contacted the yarn seller and I'm waiting for a reply, I don't even know if I want a refund or anything but I definitely didn't want a pink sweater! I loved the grey with speckles so much and I'm just so disappointed...
The most annoying thing is I did a gauge swatch and blocked it and I didn't have any issues with bleeding at all!! And I can't tell if the sleeves are going to do the same thing and if the colour is even going to match at the end??
Edit: the lighting of the photo isn't great, the pink is much brighter than it seems 😢
