Received my Avartaa watch today and I genuinely felt this deserved a proper review.
As someone who genuinely loves watches and already owns a Cartier Santos, I’ll say this very clearly — Avartaa has done something extremely tasteful here.
Most affordable “dress watches” inspired by classic rectangular designs often end up looking loud, overly derivative, or cheap in execution. This does not.
The first thing that impressed me was the overall design balance. The case dimensions are extremely well judged for Indian wrists — elegant without looking tiny, classy without trying too hard. On wrist, the watch has a refined and rich presence that photographs honestly don’t fully capture.
The true highlight for me is the Victoria Memorial dial. That single design decision gives the watch its own personality and identity. Instead of becoming “another Cartier-inspired watch,” it feels rooted in Kolkata and carries a subtle cultural emotion with it. That was brilliantly done.
Now coming to the wearing experience — this watch fits beautifully with ethnic outfits. I had specifically been searching for a traditional dress watch for kurtas, formal cultural events, and festive wear, and this fits that role perfectly. Elegant, understated, and timeless.
I did face a small dial alignment issue initially, but after adjusting it properly, the watch now sits perfectly aligned and looks stunning on wrist. Considering this is a growing independent brand, I genuinely appreciate the effort and vision behind the product.
Overall, this feels like one of the most tasteful Indian microbrand dress watches available right now in its segment.
