Des installateurs de hotte microndes ont refusé d'installer le microonde. Raison: mon tuyau d'évacuation est un tuyau de sécheuse. Il semblerait qu'il faut un tuyau rigide et plus large (6 pouces)

Est-ce vraiment un enjeu? Le tuyau entre directement dans le plafond et monte à l'étage du haut (voisin). Je présume que c'est un 4 pouces flex sur toute la longueur jusqu'à la lointaine sortie extérieure. Je suis un peu pogné avec cette installation qui prédate l'achat de la propriété.

The installers refused to install my over-the-range microwave because my existing exhaust duct is a dryer-type flexible duct. They said it needs to be rigid ducting.

Is this really a significant issue?

The duct goes directly into the ceiling and is inaccessible without opening up the ceiling. I assume it’s the same type of duct for the entire run to the exterior vent, which is fairly far away.

I’m kind of stuck with this setup since it predates my purchase of the property.

What would you recommend in this situation? Is replacing the duct really necessary, and if so, is there a way to do it without tearing apart the ceiling?

Edit: I can confirm that the duct goes directly in the ceiling. And I am 98% convinced that duct goes all the way to my upstair neighbor wall, then ceiling and connect to another duct there.
