Phase 1 of my large Spanish harbor diorama (almost) complete.

I am building a large Spanish port diorama. I heavily modified the Wiseblocks Havana Harbor set as the base for this section. Need some minifigs to arrive and some 2x3 blue and white tiles to hang from the line running overhead to complete the town scene, but this is what I have so far.

To come: Imperial fortress to the right, highly elevated from the harbor and surrounded with rocks, then a watchtower island in the bottom right area. To the left over the bridge will be a fish market and a couple shanties, then a pirate hideaway island in the southern water.

Just finished my AE HMS Endeavor

Fun build. As you can probably guess from the 3 tiers of gun decks, the entire interior is a system of rack holding cannon (70, if my count is correct).

There were a few missing pieces, which I was fortunately able to scavenge from my own bricks.

The one really annoying thing was that the set came with four technic bars that were too short to effectively the make spars wide enough for the largest sails. I did NOT have those on hand, and had to order them from Bricklink. They finally arrived today and I was able to complete it.

It’s about as big as the WISEBLOCK Jackdaw Epic Warship Edition, so it’s a beast (significantly larger than the QAR).

Taking a break from ships for a while to build a pirate/imperial diorama. I’ll post that in a few months probably haha. 🏴‍☠️

Good, inexpensive minifigs for villagers/townsfolk?

I lean mostly into the pirates/island theme and am building my first big MOC, and I’m having the worst time finding a good variation of minifigs for common village folk, not to mention not destroying my wallet.

I’ve looked at rebuildvenus, koruit and a couple other options, but nothing really seems to hit the right note. Really anything medieval would prob work, but that even seems to be mostly knights and such.

WISEBLOCK Jackdaw (Epic Warship Edition) complete!

Man, this one was fun. Definitely the most unique (and challenging) ship build I’ve done to date.

This thing is a BEAST. The final two pics are up against my (modified) QAR for scale.

Really interesting approach to build. You do the forward section first, then the waist, then the aft section last (or in whatever order you want, I guess) instead of the standard “start with a canoe and build mirror images upward” style. The bowsprit decoration gave me some trouble, but after some tinkering, I finally got it down. Great, super fun build, all around. On to the next! 🏴‍☠️

Barracuda Bay extension

I really enjoyed this little build I picked up on AE. I swapped out the palm tree that came with it with one I built myself, and added some animals and the minifig. I also took the door off as it would not stay closed and it looked more like a jail cell door, anyway.

My first Lego MOD: upgraded QAR ship (now with more guns!)

I love pirate history and wanted to de-POTC the Queen Anne’s revenge a bit, along with making the ship a tad more accurate.

I found the standard build to look a bit like a Viking longship, in that it has no true weather deck, so I decided to build one myself!

I added the top deck, with floor grates so you can see the gun crew working below. I removed all of the bone railing and skulls and replaced them with wooden railing (also to raise the side of the hull so that it doesn’t have such a “canoe” shape) and the skulls along the stern and back of the captain’s cabin.

I also added a bunch of mini-figs (including a monkey and a seagull) that I either already had on hand or pieced together, hence some being Lego yellow and some being more real-life skin tones.

I increased the gun count from 10 (if you count the 2 faux gun ports on either side) to 22, making it a truly formidable warship.

It was quite a challenge, but it was super fun and I learned a lot. I can’t wait to do some more MODs and MOCs.

Hope you guys like her!

Planning second/upper row of guns and top deck for my AE QAR; could really use some assistance.

New to MOD and giving a try at adding more guns and a top deck to my QAR build. I believe I have all of the pieces located to complete what I have in mind, except for one, and could really use some help from the community.

I am having the worst time finding either an official or aftermarket piece for additional gun port lids (pics 2 and 3). I was really hoping someone could point me in the direction of equivalent pieces, OR suggestions for pieces to use to simply replace all of them with another piece that serves the same purpose.

Note: I realize that this is right on the border for community guidelines and want to be clear that I am not looking to buy or trade. I’m simply asking for a point in the right direction or for advice.

Thank you in advance!

Queen Anne’s Revenge (Ali) complete! Now to add a second deck with MORE GUNS 😂

This is my first Ali Express build and I couldn’t be happier. Everything worked perfectly and not a single piece was missing.

My only two complaints would be that the instructions left out when to open a new set of bags, and the strings attaching the jib sail to the bowsprit and foremast were just straight pieces of string, requiring manual knot tying, as opposed to pre-molded loop ends. A bit of a hassle, but not a huge deal.

Now, I am going to add an entirely new upper deck (above the existing one) to add more cannons and to make more room for minifigs. I plan to create a grated walkway down the center using fence pieces. Wish me luck!
