Classic/old car black plate owners! What's your plans?
Hello hello fellow classic/old black plate owners!
For context, my daily driver to work and weekend outings is a 1991 Suzuki Vitara that's due in April 29. Had a top overhaul sometime in Oct 24, so still running decently with a little bit of oil consumption, but no smoke, and will tend to stutter and shutter bit when it comes to traffic jams in hot weather especially when I turn on the AC. (Where's the fun in driving a classic with no sudden heart attacks right?) All else is in decent condition, anti-rust still looking good on the chassis, body will few dents here and there.
Oddo is wrecked so idk what the mileage is, but probably somewhere in the 150k range? Since it was previous owner's seconds car.
I had a few considerations (will be sending the car to JB for 2-3 months hopefully, to restore the entire thing), my considerations of what I could potentially do is.
Renew, in huge hopes that it'll drop to somewhere in the 70-80k range ideally, if not, the 100k range would probably be the max I'd pay.
Convert to a classic plate and get a second car for about 80k if Coe is at the 110-120 range.
Get a boring depressing new car without any character.
Any suggestions or ideas?
