I grew up in the type of place where doors were never locked, where you miss a friend and call them to organise a hangout.

Miss a good friend and you just rock on up, knock, open the door and walk right in announcing 'its me, I'll put the jug on!'

Since moving here, I have met plenty of people. And have some that I can organise catchups with around busy lives. But I'd really like to find the show up and walk in like they live there, make a cuppa and raid the pantry kind of friends.

Is this not a thing that happens anymore?
