Should I be breaking out of this habit?

I am about rank 260k, I can play maps around ~5.2* and I've been playing tablet for the past 4 or so months. The only solutions to getting better at the game is to play more and play maps a bit out of my skill range but I'm not sure if this can apply to me.

I feel like the main problem attributing to limited improvement is a bad habit to try to FC every map I play. The maps I play aren't even that difficult, I just find that I break my combo in the stupidest ways possible ie missing a note that's right fucking there or slider breaking. Is this mindset normal? Because I feel that if I suddenly just keep playing more and more maps around or above my skill range I'll just never improve. I understand there's different areas to improve in such as certain mods or high ar maps etc but that doesn't really matter because I feel like no matter how hard I try at any map I just burn myself out the moment I miss.
I apologize if this needs a bit more clarification, it's really late and I feel like what I'm asking is really broad and varies, but any answer could help.

Lastly, majority of times I'll play hd. When I play, should I be aiming my eyes at the position of the hitcircles or should I be following the cursor? I feel like following the cursor isn't the best idea because half the time I miss the hitcircle but I find that it's eaasier compared to knowing where the next hitcircle is.

sure it's nice to have it, sure i hear "oh whoa you're a drummer and you have perfect pitch what the hell" quite often and sure it's nice to literally just have the trait but it's gotten to a point recently where it just becomes tiring

i'm forced to tune an instrument for someone like a timpani and usually i ask that everyone stays silent so i can get a clear vibration feedback and that just takes more time than it should then there's ppl js who doubt me when it's painfully clear i have pp

while i have perfect pitch and it's nice to have it (and although this post makes no sense to me) it gets to a point where people should just acknowledge it as something cool and brush it off 😭 im tired of ppl bugging me ffs
