A Portuguese Student’s Gizz Appreciation Post
1yr ago around this time marked the end of my 2nd year as a Chemical Engineering Student here in Portugal.
During this time of the year, university students all over Portugal come out on the streets to celebrate, parade, drink, sing and shout in what’s known as the “Queima das Fitas” ceremony. Some of you might’ve seen them wearing all black garments and capes with patches.
Also around this time, was when Gizz came to play their 3 day concerts over here in Portugal and where I bought this Gizz fan made patch which was the first on my cape.
Today marks the end of my undergraduate degree and I still wear that patch alongside many others.
This band was one of the more important things to me throughout my university years so thank you to King Gizzard for everything :)
