TCS Digital Selection – Looking for Advice from Mumbai Employees

Hi everyone,

I recently got selected for TCS Digital through campus placement, and I’m from the 2027 batch. My preferred/expected work location is Mumbai.

I’m looking for advice from people who are currently working at TCS in Mumbai, especially those in the Digital role or who have gone through the ILP.

I want to use the time before joining to improve my technical skills and prepare myself well for the role.

  • What technical skills should I focus on?
  • Which technologies or subjects are most useful for the Digital role?
  • How important are DSA, SQL, Java, OOP, etc.?
  • Is there anything specific I should learn before joining/ILP?
  • Any other advice for a fresher joining TCS Digital would be greatly appreciated.

I’d especially appreciate suggestions from TCS employees currently working in Mumbai.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

TCS BGV / Document Verification Query – Difference in Surname Across Educational Documents

Looking for advice from current/former TCS employees, HR/recruiters, or anyone who has gone through TCS Background Verification (BGV).

I have been placed at TCS for the Digital role (2027 batch) and I have a concern regarding document verification.

There is a minor difference in my surname across my documents:

  • 10th marksheet/certificate: Surname is Sutil
  • 12th marksheet/certificate: Surname is Sutil
  • BE/Engineering documents: Surname is Sutil
  • Aadhaar Card: Surname is Patil
  • TCS application/form: Surname is Patil

Basically, Sutil and Patil refer to me, but the surname is not consistent across my educational documents and Aadhaar/TCS application.

I wanted to ask specifically from people who have experience with TCS BGV/document verification:

  1. Can this difference in surname create an issue during TCS BGV?
  2. How strict is TCS regarding surname/name mismatches between educational documents and Aadhaar?
  3. Could this lead to my joining being delayed or offer being put on hold/rejected?
  4. Should I proactively inform TCS HR/recruitment/BGV team about this before document verification?
  5. Would I need to provide an affidavit/name discrepancy declaration or any other supporting document?
  6. Should I get my educational documents corrected, or is that unnecessary if I can prove that both surnames belong to me?
  7. Has anyone faced a similar situation at TCS, and what documents did TCS ask them to provide?
  8. At what stage should I raise this — before BGV, during BGV, or only if they flag the discrepancy?
  9. Could this create problems later during joining, ILP, employee records, PF/UAN, salary account, or other official documentation?
  10. Is there anything else I should do right now to avoid complications later?

I’m mainly looking for answers from TCS employees, HR/recruiters, or candidates who have actually gone through TCS BGV, rather than general assumptions.

If you have personally dealt with a similar name/surname mismatch at TCS, please share what happened and how you resolved it.

Thanks!

TCS Digital Role – 2027 Batch | Joining, ILP, Location & In-Hand Salary Queries

https://preview.redd.it/5sgz04h156kh1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=7835b7e40a793f36b11d6fd3a193b795764ac710

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently been placed at TCS for the Digital role as part of the 2027 batch, and I wanted to understand what I can expect after graduation from people who have already joined TCS or have gone through a similar process.

I’m particularly looking for information regarding:

  • Joining timeline: When can 2027 batch candidates generally expect their joining?
  • ILP (Initial Learning Program): How does the ILP work? Is it conducted before joining or after joining? How long does it usually last, and is the ILP location different from the final work location?
  • Location allocation: How is the initial location decided? Do candidates get any preference based on their home location?
  • Navi Mumbai: I’m from Navi Mumbai, so what locations can I realistically expect? Is Mumbai/Navi Mumbai possible, or are locations such as Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, etc. more likely?
  • In-hand salary: For the Digital role, approximately how much can I expect as the monthly in-hand salary after deductions such as PF, professional tax, etc.?
  • Salary during ILP: Is the salary during the ILP the same as the regular salary?
  • Bond/service agreement: Is there currently any bond or service agreement for the Digital role, and if yes, what are the conditions?
  • Joining process: What documents or formalities should I be prepared for before joining?
  • Project allocation: After ILP, how is project/team allocation done? Is it possible to get a project in the same city as the ILP location?
  • Work from office: What is the current WFO/hybrid situation for freshers?
  • Anything else: Is there anything important that a 2027 Digital role candidate should know or prepare for in advance?

Would really appreciate responses from current TCS employees, recent Digital role joiners, or 2026/2027 batch candidates who have received similar offers.

Thanks in advance!

Help regarding 25th july TCS NQT on campus

Those who took the TCS NQT on 25th July, have your results been declared yet?
The results usually come within 5–6 days, but they still haven't been announced.
If we are not shortlisted, will we still receive an email?

25th July 2026 TCS NQT On-Campus Coding questions

I recently appeared for the TCS NQT (on-campus), and here's how it went.

Quantitative Aptitude: It was quite hard. I was able to confidently solve only 3–4 questions, and the rest were mostly educated guesses.

Reasoning Ability & Advanced Section: Easy to medium. I solved more than 70% of the questions in both sections.

Verbal Ability: Easy overall, but I missed 2–3 sentence completion questions and couldn't finish the email-writing question.

Coding Questions:

  1. Take 4 numbers as input, sort them in descending order, and return: res = a[0] * a[3] + a[1] * a[2]
  2. The second question was similar to LeetCode 2289, except it only had the condition nums[i + 1] > nums[i]nums[i - 1] > nums[i] was not included.

I solved the first coding question completely. For the second one, my solution ended up getting a TLE.

What role can I realistically expect?

From what I observed last year, most students received the Ninja role, while only a small percentage got Digital, even though many were eligible for Prime. If I receive the Ninja role, I won't be eligible to sit for other companies offering less than ₹7.15 LPA.

I have a good understanding of core CS subjects and decent coding skills, so I'm unsure what I should do if I'm offered Ninja.

Should I attend the interview if I'm shortlisted, or is there anything else I should consider?

I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have gone through the TCS placement process.
