I know I'm a bit late to the party, almost 9 years late actually, but I finally had the chance to play it after all these years and now I can't get this game out of my head.

I never interacted with any other Splatoon media, truth do be told I only know about this game Because little me watched a Spicy Calamari Inkantation clip, and that thing etched itself onto my soul like a parasite. I can't play any online matches since my "console" suffers from a severe case of "emulationitis", It's not contagious but it blocks me from online stuff. Thankfully It didn't take much away from my experience, I am more than fine with just story mode.

Talking about story mode, I love it, never had that much fun with a game before. Btw, DJ Octavio is AWESOME, I never fell in love with a character so quickly in my life, I would totally buy his merchandise, If He had any. His last phase is even better than what I remembered from the video, especially when music kicked in.

I know this next part might sound weird, but when I was at Octavio's last phase, I dont know how to describe it properly, but at first I was shaking and couldnt do anything but look at the screen and listen to Calamari Inkantation. I wasnt feeling bad, I wasnt sick, I was just so immeasurably excited, and I dont even know why! I know its just a silly game about squid people and octopus people with a bunch of guns, why the fuck am I suddenly tearing up from happiness? (Note from my firend: It was so peak it made bro cry)

I never payed much attention to Splatoon before, never played any of the games, didnt listen to the ost (aside from said Spicy Calamari Inkantion clip), didnt even know the name of the villain, but I'm really glad I changed that, this year has been anything but forgiving on me and I really needed something to boost my morale, and boy did I get that something. I was smilling ear to ear while playing this game, I dont think i did that for any other game in my life.

Anyway, point is: Splatoon rules and I'm moving on to Octo Expansion
