Hotel Guests Gripe

Hotel Guests Gripe

This is probably the wrong flair, but I'm not sure what the right one should be and since this includes an in game screenshot, it should work. But why is it, with 35 different species of animal, I always end up with at least two of the same kind. Today, it's horses. Yesterday it was dogs. The day before that, kangaroos... One day I had two anteaters and two mice. Like, really? And why, with roughly 397 villagers to pick from (not counting the ten on my island, the six sanrio, two from Zelda, and two from Splatoon) do I keep the same guests over and over again? Like, Candi literally lived in my island. She's been to the hotel twice... I've only been playing since February! I didn't get my hotel until the middle of March. Pretty sure she was still living on the island at that time. Every single hotel guest I have today is a returning guest. There's probably like 300 villagers I've never met. Pick them! Like I know it's suppose to be random, but this seems ridiculous. They could fix the algorithm to cycle through all of them before repeats. Like a playlist on shuffle. How am I supposed to know if I want new villagers if I never meet them?

Deep Sea Creatures Special Character

I wish they would add a special character who would visit and buy our deep Sea Creatures, like Flick does with Bugs and C.J. does for fish. All we get is Pascal, who just wants one scallop a day and has taken to given me items he's already given me lately. Dude, I just want the two pearls. And I for one, would like to have models of some of my DSC like we have for fish and bugs. A Gigas Giant Clam or Vampire Squid model would be so cool.

Spawn of Hermit Crab

So I went on a hunt for rare beetles. Took a Kappa Tour to a mystery isle. Cut down all the trees but the palms, dug up all the stumps, picked all the flowers and the weeds. And I put something down on every tile along the beach to prevent hermit crabs from spawning... And they did anyway.

Cute coincidence

I just thought this was nifty. Like, what are the odds... I pressed the button too late or you would have seen me catch it just a few seconds before, lol

Personalized Comments from Villagers

Had anybody else had any of their villagers or hotel guest say something specifically personalized to your name or your island name? Like I named my Island Fanta (dontcha wanna) and I've seen several animals say something about the island being "Fanta-stic!" With the Fanta highlighted in blue, clearly referencing my specific island.

I think my thumb hates me

Like, I can not stop pressing A too early when fishing... I always do the eyes closed, just listening. I've tried the hover my thumb. But I swear, at least several times a day when I'm trying to catch a fish my thumb will just press the button without my permission. I will consciously think, don't press too early and it will still press to early. It's so frustrating. And it's not stressing over achievements... I got the Cast Master already, although I literally have no idea how I did that. And it's not stressing over certain fish. It does it for all fish. Big fish, small fish, fish I'm absolutely certain are sea bass. I can be just happily fishing on my mystery island or tour trying to fill up my inventory before I go back, and for no reason what so every, my thumb will just randomly push the button on what is absolutely a nibble. But sometimes I will be trying to catch a specific fish, like what might be a shark or looks like extra large shadow off the pier... And there goes my thumb, acting all on it's own, with no input from me whatsoever. It is absolutely the most aggravating thing and I have no idea how to stop it. How do you control a digit that acts independently?

Flipping Olive Flounder

So I spent over two hours running up and down the beach of my island in the rain trying to catch a coelacanth. I never did... I did catch a Dorado, which I didn't even know was active. I just saw a large shadow in the river mouth and thought "that's not a bass", so that was good. I was so surprised to catch one I forgot to take a screenshot at the moment. I did however "show it off" to get a good pic.

But I HATE Olive Founders. I know everybody is always complaining about the C+ and yes they are super annoying. But most of the time I'm about 90% sure it's gonna be a sea bass before I fish for the sea bass... But that Flounder is just subtly bigger. It gets my hopes up every time and then dashes them into Olive flatness. It is the pits. I mean, at least the sea bass I can cook into a pie with just a little flour, which is easily accessible as I have more wheat than I could ever possible need. But to cook the sauteed flounder I need skinny mushrooms, of which I don't have many because I didn't start playing until February and I rarely get that island on the tours. I don't even have the second flounder recipe... So it's worth less to me. (Not worthless, just worth less)
