I keep getting a “cannot communicate with battery” error randomly. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it occurs often enough to be very annoying. I’m still using the original battery that came with the camera, and the recharge performance indicator is still green (2 bars), so I doubt the battery is the issue.

I had a 7D that showed the same problem—“cannot communicate with battery.” I was able to fix it by tightening a small screw on the bottom PCB.

I think my 5D may have the same issue, but I’m not sure where to check. The PCB layout is different.

I need help.
