Need Help Buying First Setup! [$1k range]

So I'm getting into vinyl for the first time, having bought a Sound Burger a few months back. Now I know it's not exactly the best player in the world, but I fell in love with the design when I was a kid so I bought one of the 60th anniversary editions when they came out. I plan on buying a better player soon.

I've been using it jankily connected through the Bose Soundbar on my TV for a while, but I recently moved into a new place and finally have room for a dedicated vinyl corner. My initial thoughts are:

* An amp with an easy bluetooth connection for playlists
* Passive bookshelf speakers (I was recommended Klipsch or Elac by a friend, but he's not a vinyl person so I don't know if these are good recs)

But I have a million questions:

* The Sound Burger has a phono preamp - does that mean I don't need a separate preamp?
* Should I put more money into the speakers or the amplifier?
* Is it worth getting a subwoofer?

I'm sure there's other things I'm missing, but the simple question here is "What is a good combination of amp and speakers on a $1000 budget?"

Just writing a quick warning so others avoid the nonsense I just went through. Ordered a Burrow sofa January 16th, and was told it would ship by the end of March. 10 weeks isn't great, I thought, but not the end of the world. I was moving into a new place the middle of February, so I figured I could go a month and a half without a sofa.

The 3rd week of March I get an email that my shipping date has been pushed out to the end of April. Last week I get an email that my shipping date has been pushed out to the end of May. Mind you there's absolutely no contact in between, and no apologies for being delayed almost twice as long as the original estimate. When I contacted customer service asking if there's anything they can do to make right the fact that they are anticipating 19 WEEKS from date or order to date of shipping (and mind you, that's with no guarantee they wouldn't push the date back another month) they offered me a 10% store credit.

Does Burrow really think I'm gonna order more furniture from them after getting jerked around for months? And 10% - $285 - is supposed to be appropriate recompense for not having a sofa for 2 and a half months? No thanks, terrible company with terrible customer support.

I just moved to Los Feliz/Thai Town after living in NoHo for the past 5 years, and my Verizon service is atrocious. I did a trial of Mint, and while it was better it was kind of spotty in other parts of the city (like where I work over by the Grove).

Can anyone recommend a good (and relatively low cost) cell service provider?
