If Hecahands Xeno reveals two monsters that both say "Must first be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by [doing X]", does Xeno just look at them and do nothing?

In my case the Alphabet Dragon Cannon fusions can't be cheated out but my friend is arguing that they should because Xeno already chose the cards as targets which I disagree with as summoning is optional.
