Hi! I've been playing yugioh for about 11 years, (duel links then masterduel) and I'm really keen to get into playing physically. I'm from the UK and I'm struggling to find any events/places near me that play casually, please give some recommendations! I'd really like to get into it competitively too but I'm worried about being a woman in both of these spaces. Be honest am I going to get shit? Have no experience with this sort of environment and I'm quite anxious about it. Thanks! :)

I was trying to understand SEGOC better, and tested a situation in master duel solo mode which didn't make sense to me.

MST and torrential tribute on board. Radiant typhoon Kroesea, Maxx c, and ash in hand.

cl1 opponent special summon, cl2 MST.

In a new chain, I assumed that kroesea would have to be activated first as a optional trigger effect, and then I would be able to chain Maxx c, ash, and torrential.

However, I was able to cl1 Maxx c, cl2 ash, cl3 torrential, and then finally cl4 kroesea.

Why could I activate trigger effects after activating spell speed 2 effects? Am I misunderstanding something about kroesea's effect, or the way building a chain works? Or was it something about my opponent not having any responses?

A friend of mine introduced me to Yugi-Oh, and as such I was a bit interested in making a deck for myself. Now it seems very complicated, but I do feel like it could be fun once I understand how to play more. So, I wanted to make a deck that felt a bit unique for me, but I have no idea where to start. I really like the Ancient Gear theme, but anything that is Automaton also pleases me, but I have no idea if these themes are up to date with the current meta, could someone help please ?

Started playing the deck a few days ago and I got some questions:

I play D. Shifter in the deck so if I use it do my ritual monsters come back from the banishment when they are tributes or do they stay there?

What's the timing when using futsu effect? Like do I use it when my opp declares a special summon like cartesia when albaz is in field or when?

Hi everyone, I have a crazy dilemma that's bothering me. I have both a full power branded and a full power DoomZ deck. Which should I keep and which should I sell? Which one will bring me more value in the future/which its more Powerfull also because I've been playing branded for a month and I've noticed that it bricks a lot.. Please advise me because I cant choose...

I was just curious about my extra deck for running this card, is the whole point of running it to remove key link/fusion/xyz/synchro monsters like fiendsmith requiem/k9 ripper/kewl tune rs/lunalight leo dancer etc?

I’m currently looking for a new deck to pick up. I’ve been playing Exosister, but the deck feels pretty weak going second, so I’d like to try something different.

Ideally, I’m looking for a slow, grindy control deck that doesn’t rely on flashy 10-minute combos, but instead wins by interacting, simplifying the game state, and out-resourcing the opponent over time.

Do you have any suggestions? What decks would you recommend and why?

Hi i'd like some kind of recommendation or guidance on buying yugioh sealed products.

I'd like to buy a booster box for my girlfriend as a gift but i dont even know where to start to look. Shes gotten really into collecting yugioh cards this year, she buys a couple of loose packs a week to fill out her binder and eventually just so we could try the game she bought me and herself two structure decks (Darkworld and Beware of the Traptrix respectively).

Now, before i get roasted in the comments, ive done enough research to know that no boosterbox, tin, starter or structure deck will be enough to build a competitive deck and that for that we'd have to buy singles, the thing is that she is not interested at all in going to locals or having a viable or competitive deck, shes just really into the thrill of opening cards and filling out her binder with cards she considers cute or cool.

I would like to buy her a box of a set with cool looking cards BUT that also contains cards of the same archetype or strategy type on her traptrix deck so she could potentially add some cards to her deck and get a taste of deckbuilding (if she chooses to, theres a good chance she'll just throw them in her binder anyways lol).

I've been playing for years exclusively online, but I've been slowly building an Ice Barrier deck irl since they're my favorite deck period. What I'm concerned about is a few things:

1. What do I need to actually bring besides my deck? I've got a mat from the IB Structure deck but from footage I've seen on youtube they don't use them so I don't know if it's usable

2. Do you need cards that are explicitly tokens? Because Ice Barrier tokens are like 5 bucks each and I don't get paid till next month lmao

3. What cards are best suited for the Side Deck? I usually go with Board Breakers if I'm forced to go second, but I figured it would be a good idea to ask

I search a deck/engine which is not kwltune/doomz/branded with a high resilance vs interruptions? Preferebly you should not be able to trade 1 vs 1 against it.

If you know some pls list them and maybe a short insight why a specfic deck/engine cant be good interrupted with.

I'm struggling to complete my games in time at locals in the instance I win the first game. I think I spend too much time in game 2 because I'm uncertain if I can see a line to win. If there's like 15-20 mins on the clock should I maybe just go next and try to win the 3rd game since I can dictate if I want to go first/second?

This happened to me at locals yesterday where I went into time and got double loss but die roll and won. But my opponent is clearly frustrated, said "You have to play faster" and I feel like shit. I feel bad but try to keep this in mind, but round 3 something similar happens where I win the first game but game 2 goes into a long grind game where I felt like I could have won but went into time. Should I have just conceded game 2 and try to win game 3 in that case?

I’m on a journey, hunting down the weird and unexpected.

Whilst collecting a ton of different blue eyes variations I found that yugioh has got some strange line ups.

Firstly, some back story. I fell away from yugioh before I was a teen, so stumbling back into the hobby now I’m seeing some hilarious.. and also sometimes just downright weird cards (which I love).

As a kid I was drawn to the toon cards. I thought they were as wacky as it could get, but more recently I’ve discovered “Danger! Nessie”. Along with other “Danger!” cards. So, I thought to myself.. what else is out there and maybe I should begin a weird and wonderful collection of these as well.
(Ten minutes ago I found a cute little cat yugioh card.. who knew!)

Also, side note:
I actually remember Hungry Burger from years back. So obviously that’s in my collection now as well ;)

Anyway, can anyone help with my collection? Just need to be pointed in the right direction. As there’s literally too many cards on the market to go through one by one. I’d be searching for an eternity looking for strange cards.

I’m currently trying to understand the rules on when it’s legal or illegal to activate effects, especially when there is a conjunction like “then” between two effects. Because apparently sometimes the effect after the conjunction doesn’t have to be able to succeed at the time of activation, it just needs to be able to be attempted? Is there any good rule of thumb about what kind of effects work like that?

Another confusing thing are invalid targets. In order for Monster Reborn there obviously needs to be a target that can actually be special summoned, but a targeted destruction effect can target a monster that cannot be destroyed by card effect and on resolve nothing happens. Same thing with effects of all kinds and monsters that are unaffected by card effects. You can still always “attempt” to affect them. Is this a distinction between effects on field vs. in GY or why do these effects work like this?

As the title suggests, I’ve recently bought 3x of the fire king structure deck and while I’ve heard the deck is pretty good out of the box with 3 copies, I feel like I want to upgrade it further! Main & extra deck!

But I’m really unsure what cards the deck needs or uses or a good example list I could follow.

This seems to be my best bet atm for starting yugioh again properly and getting back into the game and going to my first locals (which is also very nerve wracking)

I heard that people add jurrac cards now?

But unsure what cards I’d need to work way from a deck made from the 3x structure decks to a fully competitive ready deck! Hope that makes sense!

if been testing Ennecraft online vs DoomZ and i got following situation:

I control two face-down Archa.Tail

Opponent activates CL1 Vidolium Pendulum effect to destroy itself and Special Summon a monster. CL2 I activate Archa.Tail Flip effect to protect my cards during the end and to burn my opponent.

Next Chain my opponent activates Juprendo Monster effect, but this time i can't use Archa.Tail effect.

My question is: Can i only activate Archa.Tail Flip effect once per turn? Or is this bug?

I know that the effect last till the end of the turn, but more burn would be good.

The second to last clause: “For the rest of this turn, neither player can activate the effects of monsters with any of their revealed monsters’ names.” Would this apply to both players?

For example: Player A reveals Ash for Subspace, Player B reveals Droll. Are both players unable to activate Ash and Droll? Or is Player A unable to activate Ash, but can still activate Droll and vice versa for Player B?

Hey everyone, I’m mostly looking to see if my logic on this topic is the right one to stick with, or if I’m better off revising my plan.

I play ddd, originally when fuwa resolved I kinda panicked and tried to put up a half board, but even then they still ended up with a lot of cards in hand. So recently my gameplan has just been to try and put out full endboard anyways, cutting ed summons where possible, and bank on it being strong enough to overpower the amount of cards they have. This has had mixed results. Sometimes it works out fine and eternal darkness plus monsters blocks enough that even with 15+ cards they can’t break my board. But other times it just results in “hfd, raigeki, lightning storm, raigeki,” and I’m boned.

I’m not entirely certain of if there is a better way to play it, or if it’s just a case of being one of the deck’s flaws.
