different judges have said either way on this so im curious what u guys think. So, in yugioh tcg genesys format, can i resolve the eff of "link apple" to draw 1 after resolving pot of duality same turn? i've been told yes by judges on dueling book and also told no by others. in a deck profile where a guy got top 32 with exodia in genesys, he claimed the head ycs judge at that even allowed it. but people seem to get upset with me on duelingbook when i say that. * LINK APPLE EFF: "You can reveal this card in your hand; banish (face-up) 1 random face-down card from your Extra Deck, then, Special Summon this card if the banished card was a Link Monster. Otherwise, discard this card, and if you do, draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Link Apple" once per turn."

If you have a card whose activation or effect is once per turn (NOT once per copy), if your opponent negates that activation or effect, can you use another copy of the card right after?

In essence what I want to know is that when a card says its activation or effect is once per turn (again, not once per copy), does that only refer to when you actually get to activate the card or get usage out of its effect, or does the limit kick in even by you just "attempting" to activate the card or use its effect?

Does this card stop your opponent from responding to the effect of Medius the Pure as well as its summon? I was told it does but the medius search effect is not a mandatory on summon effect. It’s an ignition effect, not a trigger effect right? What’s the ruling here ?

I am wondering if is there a way to negate the effect that stops you from Special Summoning? Or the only way would be to destroy the monster?

I'm a huge fan of the elemental heroes so I want to know if there's a deck that looks and feels like PURE elemental heroes that is still good for competitive play?

So a friend of mine and I would like to play some yugioh tcg again but we dont want those crazy new decks. More along the lines of synchro/XYZ era of 2015? Are there any structure decks that are affordable, have a similar powerlevel? I really like lightsworn and i know there is a steucture deck for that. So are there any decks on a similar level? Hello! I hope you are all doing well. I plan on hopefully getting my social anxieties in order to go to a TCG locals. I heard there was a difference between how handtraps worked in the TCG vs Masterduel/OCG. Could anyone explain like I'm five what the differences are? I don't want to bother my opponents too much by screwing up the game.

I’m curious what sleeves everyone actually prefers for playing Yu-Gi-Oh.
Do you use regular/plain sleeves or do you prefer the official Konami sleeves with artwork/holographic designs on the back?
And do you double sleeve or keep your cards single sleeved?
I’m currently trying to decide what I like best. I care less about maximum protection and more about the actual playing/shuffling experience. Personally, I find double sleeving makes the deck feel quite thick, and I’m not sure I like the way it shuffles compared to a single-sleeved deck.
Also i think the sleeves with the artwook (like kuribo, dark magician girls etc.) on the back are not good in quality. I have the fear that they start ripping off after couple of time shuffling.
I’m also curious about the Extra Deck:
Do you use the same sleeves as your Main Deck or different ones?
Plain sleeves vs. character/artwork sleeves and double or single sleeved.
I think double sleeve with artwork is ok since you dont have to shuffle the extra (except you play Pot of Extravagance)
What setup do you personally use and why? I’m especially interested in what feels best for shuffling and playing rather than just protection.

Can a good Orcust deck be meta relevant/viable these days if properly built? And is the horus package still good with them?

I keep experimenting with gemini monsters and I can't seem to find a way to make the deck 'work'. I try and use a mix of the chemicritter archetype and gemini ablation support but that doesn't seem to put them out fast enough or good enough compared to other decks. I tried the double summon spell cards, gemini trap hole, and other gemini generic support cards and those bricked too hard too often. I even tried using time-tearing morganite and that kinda worked but I felt nerfed because I couldn't run hand traps or if I did half the time they were useless since I already activated the card.

I don't think I can ever get this deck to work no matter what cards I try and swap out and I think that the Genesys format wouldn't do me a favor even if I could run a card like Ultimate Offering.

Has anyone ever seen a gemini deck work or does this archetype have no hope?

For specific examples:

Can you activate the in-hand effect of “Rescue-ACE Quick Attacker” to Special Summon itself by shuffling 1 “Rescue-ACE Arbitrator” (a Link Monster) you control into the Extra Deck? I’m imagining not as it doesn’t say “Deck/Extra Deck” like “Fiendsmith Engraver”.

When resolving the GY effect of “Medius the Pure” to Special Summon itself, if you shuffle a monster into the Extra Deck, do you still Special Summon this card?

I want to make a bunch of low power decks to share and play with my friends here and there, and also to kickoff a collection potentially, but while deckbuilding I’m having trouble determining how many of a card I should include. I get the concept of having 1 copy means you don’t want to draw it and having 3 means you do but beyond that I get a bit stumped. As a longtime Magic player it’s pretty hard for me to assess cards. Any advice/online tools I could use to help with this? Thanks <3

Im new to the game, this is my first time making a deck. Im not too interested in the modern/meta stuff since i got into the game from the anime and i like the slower paced version of the game. I've been recommended to play retro formats like GOATS or Edison.

I looked through all the monster cards and have been thinking of making a Frightfur/Hallo deck, i thought of adding these monsters:

Frightfur/Edge imp/Fluffal  archetype (Main archetype, fusion summons send lots of Fiend types to the GY to fuel Hallo)

Hallo, the spirit of tricks (Possibly the big boss monster, supposed to come later on and deal a bunch of damage or get a lot of ATK from all the Fiend types in the GY)

Danger! archetype (Just a couple of them for vibes and possibly get some strong monsters with cool effects on the field easily. Only problem is most of them aren't fiends so that might get in the way)

Holding arms (To disable enemy monsters)

Trap eater (To disable enemy traps)

•Bearblocker (To protect my own traps)

Plus maybe some other fun utility monsters (or not, idk if this is already too many) and a bunch of spells and traps.

I was also kinda planning on using Scapegoat and United we stand because it sounds fun (I know its bad in modern but might have some use in retro formats?? Maybe?? It just sounds fun to execute)

Any tips on monster ratios or spell/traps to add?

Everything I can find is either an extra deck monster, a level 7 or higher monster or something that needs to be destroyed. I'm looking for something similar to RoTA.

Demiurge Ema is a level 8 LIGHT Fairy with 3300ATK and 2000DEF and no summoning restriction.

I’ve slotted in a foolish burial since it’s going to be a darklords/ars magna deck with a touch of power patron(vidolium, purification, medicurius)

There was 3x terminus in order to put vidolium in the gy and draw whatever dark fairy I need(medius, theorealise medius, any darklord ect)
