I’ve come up with a wild idea on how Darkin Units could be implemented into Riftbound - Unit Gear Equipments! (Balancing would need work but what do you think?)

Weekly Custom Card Competition (CCC) - "The Lone Pendulum"

Welcome all card makers to another instalment of the weekly CCC's. Thank you to everyone who participated in the previous CCC(s), some scores are still being tallied.

This Week's Prompt is: "The Lone Pendulum"

Pendulum Monsters are usually designed to work alongside other Pendulum Monsters, but some are left to stand alone. For this week's CCC, create a Pendulum Monster for an archetype, series, theme, or strategy that otherwise has no other Pendulum Monsters to accompany it.

Your card should feel like a natural one-off addition to its strategy rather than the first half of a new Pendulum pair. Whether its Pendulum Effect supports the theme, its Scale enables something useful, or it moves between the Monster and Pendulum Zones, make the lone Pendulum mechanic feel meaningful to the deck.

Competition Rules

  • Follows the weekly prompt. Your card needs to be a Pendulum Monster belonging to or supporting a strategy that does not otherwise have a conventional Pendulum pair or broader Pendulum line-up.
    • Your submission must be able to function as a standalone Pendulum design; do not create or assume an additional custom Pendulum Monster to serve as its opposite Scale.
  • 1 card per account. Your first submission will be considered your only submission. You may edit and update the card during the submission period, but it will be considered locked once the competition deadline passes.
  • Your card must be newly created for this competition. Reposting previously designed cards or older custom cards will not be considered.
  • Your card may be an entirely text entry, or fully rendered with artwork. Both formats are acceptable. However, if artwork is used, a linked source must be provided.
    • Artwork may be taken from pre-existing cards, including official Yu-Gi-Oh cards or artwork from other TCGs. This is permitted purely for visual presentation and will not be judged as part of scoring
  • Card text must follow TCG/OCG format (no Rush Duel cards). Whichever format you choose, ensure it is consistent throughout the card.
  • PSCT (Problem Solving Card Text) will be judged as part of scoring. Proper PSCT is not strictly required, but unclear or incorrect card text will affect your score, even just minorly. If you need help with PSCT, there are several excellent resources and guides available on this subreddit.
    • There is resources available, such as the free PSCT SuperThread. If you don't wish too, Myself and plenty of users here are always willing to give helping hands.
  • Absolutely NO Artificially Generated cards. Entries created using generative AI for text will not be considered.
  • Cards will be judged relative to modern Yu-Gi-Oh gameplay and card design philosophy.

Submission Deadline

Submissions and entries will be accepted until one week from this competition's posting. The submission period will end on: Monday, 17 August, 11:30 AM (UTC).

After that point, submission will be locked and judging will begin.

How to Submit

Once you've created your card and are happy with its design you can create a post on r/customyugioh as an image or text-only, using the following title format: Weekly CCC (Lone Pendulum) – <Card Name> – <Reddit Username>

>Example: Weekly CCC (Lone Pendulum) – Illusionist of Dark Magician – u/ExampleUser

Make sure to also apply the "Competition Submission" tag. This will be the main way I track and collect entries. You may optionally link your submission into the comments of this post, but is not necessary for judging, purely to reconnect submissions to this post for people in the future to see what you've submitted.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged on a 10 point scoring system based on the following categories.

The total is equal to: Prompt x (Form + Flavour + Function + PSCT).

Closing Regards

If you require clarification on the rules, feel free to ask. Looking forward to seeing everyone's creations!

What if "Nightwinged Cleric" had its own Assault Mode?

Welcome to any and all feedback or criticism.

>Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned with "Assault Mode Activate". If a monster(s) that mentions "Assault Mode Activate" is Normal or Special Summoned, while this card is in your hand, face-up field, or GY (except during the Damage Step): You can activate 1 of these effects (but you can only use each effect of "Nightwinged Cleric/Assault Mode" once per turn);
● Show 1 "/Assault Mode" monster in your hand or Deck, shuffle it and this card into the Deck, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck whose name is included in the shown monster's name.
● Shuffle any number of cards in your hand and/or GY into the Deck; Set an equal number of Spells/Traps that are or mention "Assault Mode Activate" from your Deck.

Trojan Offering - A side-grade to “Shien’s Spy”

Welcome to any and all feedback or criticism. It’s just something fun, maybe useless but found it interesting enough of an idea to explore more “donate” cards.

Card Effect Text:

Give control of 1 monster you control to your opponent, but while it is in your opponent's Monster Zone, it cannot attack, be Tributed, or be used as material for a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summon, and if you do, apply 1 of these effects.
●During the End Phase of this turn, destroy all cards your opponent controls in the same and adjacent columns as that monster.
●During the End Phase of the next turn, take control of any number of monsters your opponent controls, including that monster.

Artwork is of “Trojan Horse” from Rush Duels!

EDIT: Slightly changed the first dot point for optimisation.

Welcome to any and all feedback or criticism.

Weekly Custom Card Competition (CCC) - "The other Legendary Dragon Fusions"

Welcome all card makers to another instalment of the weekly CCC's. Thank you to everyone who participated in the previous CCC(s), some scores are still being tallied, but will be released soon.

This Week's Prompt is: "The other Legendary Dragon Fusions"

This week's prompt is simple, make a Fusion Monster that can be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck by the effect of The Claw of Hermos or The Fang of Critias, two of the "Legendary Dragon" Spells. We will be focusing ONLY on these instead of all three with The Eye of Timaeus, so that this prompt doesn't become "Dark Magician Support" the CCC.

Your Fusion Monster must require the use of an existing card(s) to be Fusion Summoned via the effect of either Claw or Fang. You may choose either or, and for as old or as new the card to be used for. It's allowed to be specific or even generic, but can affect judgment depending on how you balance such restrictions. As much as the current existing Fusions are based on cards used by Kaiba and Joey respectively, yours does not require to be.

Competition Rules

  • Follows the weekly prompt. Your card be a Fusion Monster Card that can be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck by Claw of Hermos or Fang of Critias by using an existing card(s). Not by Eye of Timaeus.
  • card per account. Your first submission will be considered your only submission. You may edit and update the card during the submission period, but it will be considered locked once the competition deadline passes.

Weekly CCC (Opponent's Choice - June 2026) - Thunder Caesar, the Super Lightningstrike Kaiju - u/Dogga565

Had to throw my own hat into the ring last minute. Took a unique approach to the prompt that I hope you’ll appreciate.

Card Effect Text:

[1 monster]
Must be Link Summoned to an Extra Monster Zone so that it points to a "Kaiju" monster. You can also Link Summon this card to your opponent's field by using 1 monster they control as material. You can only control 1 "Kaiju" monster. When this card would declare an attack, your opponent chooses the target. Once per turn: The turn player can activate 1 of these effects;
● Add 1 "Kaiju" card from their Deck to their hand.
● Remove 3 Kaiju Counters from anywhere on the field; this turn, this card can attack directly, also, it can attack up to 3 times during each Battle Phase.

Weekly CCC (Glorious Numbers) - Number C77: The Cardinal Corruptions - u/Dogga565

Welcome to any and all feedback or criticism.

For some fun additional context, this card is to be heavily used along the upscaling Xyz mechanics of the following Xyz Monsters. Overlaying on top of each other until you come to this card. Then you can "use" their effects to destroy and banish cards from the field as "Quick Effects". Hope you enjoy the card as much as I enjoyed making it, and that you can see all the references made in between.

Card Effect Text:

>2+ Level 13 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using 1 Rank 12 Xyz Monster you control (transfer its materials). Cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Gains 700 ATK/DEF for each material attached to it. Once per turn, during the End Phase: You can attach 1 Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck or GY to this card as material. If this card has "Number 77: The Seven Sins" as material, it gains these effects.
● Each time your opponent activates a card or effect, they take 700 damage when it resolves.
● Once per Chain (Quick Effect): You can detach 1 "Number" DARK Insect Xyz Monster or "Number 77: The Seven Sins" from this card; apply 1 of that card's effects that detaches an Xyz Material(s) to activate.

Artwork is the evolved form of "Grasping Spider" from Shadowverse.

Gameplay Advice Question: “Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries” targets for the May 2026 format?

Currently testing Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries in my side deck and it’s been performing surprisingly well into the current format, but I’m still uncertain what the most optimal reveal targets are after the recent May 2026 TCG banlist.

I’m mainly looking for recommendations against:
• Kewl Tune
• Branded / Branded variants
• Sky Striker
• Elfnotes
• DoomZ
• Artmage
• Fiendsmith variants
• Magnet Warriors
• Radiant Typhoon
• HEROs

As well as any other emerging/meta-relevant decks seeing increased popularity lately, even if they are not necessarily Tiered decks. The ones listed above just happen to be the ones I see on a regular basis.

What are people finding to be the highest impact hits right now? Are there any “auto-win” Cherries targets this format, or are most matchups better off hitting consistency/extenders instead of outright combo pieces?
