Please help! My dog's health has rapidly declined within the past week!
My 9 year old English Mastiff's health has declined drastically in the past week. I've had her since she was just a tiny puppy and she hasn't had any health issues (outside the occasional ear infection we get treated immediately) right now. Quite a few worrying behaviors and physical issues have appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Shes lost quite a bit of weight, guessing something like 10-15 pounds. She was sitting around a healthy 140 for majority of her life, we have never been able to feel her spine until now. Random scabs and bald spots have appeared on her legs, shown in the 2nd and 3rd pictures. Her nose is crusted up and seemingly scabbed as well, it won't come off when wiped. As for strange behaviors, her appetite is the same as it always has been, but she is drinking an insane amount of water. She goes through giant water bowls instantaneously, so much so that she has to go to the bathroom CONSTANTLY.
I am kind of in a panic state because though she is a great dog to me and my family, she is aggressive when it comes to other people. I've called countless vets and none of the ones around me are willing to take her for this reason. I really love her and I feel horrible for being lost in this situation. I don't want to stand by and watch her decline like this if there's something I can do about it. Has anyone had similar experiences? Can anyone tell me what happened to her? Is it a parasite of some sort? Is it just a part of her getting old? What should I do??
