I've heard a bit about this horn, but I feel like I haven't gotten the straight dope on it. I've heard it doesn't blend, or it does blend, or it has unique tone, or whatever. So what's the deal with it? Will I like it for lead playing, rock horn section playing, solo playing? Or is it a waste of time? What makes it unique? Silver vs brass? Decade it was made? My mouth in particular? Thank you.
Hi all, I have a trombone that I'm interested in getting some custom work done on. At least, I'm looking to get it relaquered with colored lacquer, but I could be interested in plating or engraving or whatever. I'm just wondering what shops are known for custom work, and if there are any in the northeast, NYC or Toronto areas.
I'm wondering this because I've never tried, but maybe would like to. What I see in 2v2 when I play random matchmaking and face a team with their own color and name is that they're either a well-oiled machine, or that they have one teammate who's not as good, so they generally have a tough time against two people who can consistently hit the ball and be in the right place. (I'm only talking gold-ranked random matchmaking here.) But sometimes I do get slain against someone with a bronze on their team. What is your experience playing with friends who are ranked lower than you on 2v2? Is it fun, or will my friend just have a bad time?
