Network Card Help/Suggestions
I had a co-worker build a new PC for me in Dec '24. I had zero experience with it and once I had all the parts picked out, they came over and built it. Everything worked great, but lately I've been having issues dropping connection for a split-second and getting throttled at 100 Mbps (normally 1000-2000 with gfiber) until I restart the PC. I'm always using ethernet, never wifi. My coworker determined that my network card needs replaced. He had one ordered to his place and was planning on bringing it over to install it a few weeks ago, but I've lost contact with him and I'm not sure which card he ordered.
I'm still very new to building and I'm hoping someone can help me determine which card to buy. I'm not sure what to look for or what my requirements are.
I don't know what info is important but here are my PC specs:
Motherboard: MAG B660 Tomahawk Wifi DDR4
Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K 3.20 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.8 GB usable)
Storage 1.82 TB SSD Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (24 GB), Intel(R) UHD Graphics 770 (128 MB)
System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
I don't even know what the price ranges are, but I'm comfortable spending up to $100.
Thanks for any insight.
