Is it a good idea to stay on the road to becoming an interpreter in 2026?

I’m starting uni in about a week, my major is ASL focused on English Interpreting. I notice more now very depressing comments in general about the state of interpreters relating to their jobs. The economy and job market being so weird currently doesn’t help. #ilovebeing18in2026 😀

I know people are worried about the whole “will ai take interpreters too?” question, but it’s hard not to be a little scared as an incoming ASL major. Should I plan on changing my major or stick through with it?

I know having another option is always good, any ideas that aren’t the classic answer (SLP)?

is this feeling anxiety? also how do I stop it please

Recently I’ve had this odd feeling, like I’m forgetting something/ forgetting something I need to do, but there’s nothing. It’s as if I’m procrastinating doing a task, but there isn’t any task to be done, I’m just living.

I’m currently of break before the school year starts, so I don’t know what I could be experiencing, but I think it may be anxiety?

Help me out here, and please tell me what to do to stop feeling like I’m being dragged around by my own mind. :p

I’m an ASL 2 student and it’s almost the end of semester (yay summer!). I know Im pretty beginner still, but I am struggling with some kind of self doubt I think. I just don’t know if I can actually get to the level of interpreting that is required yk. Not just with learning ASL but true interpreter skills. I’m assuming I’ll get better overtime but I rlly feel like giving up before I’ve even started. Is this normal and how do I fix it lol
