I'm a technical recruiter supporting a federal contractor team, and we're looking for an experienced 1099 Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our project. MUST BE BASED IN THE US!

We're looking for someone who enjoys building modern applications from front to back—not someone who only wants to work in one layer of the stack.

What you'll be doing

• Building new features across Angular front-end applications and Java/Spring Boot microservices
• Developing containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes
• Designing and integrating REST APIs
• Implementing Kafka-based messaging for distributed systems
• Working with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases
• Creating technical design documentation and collaborating on architecture decisions
• Participating in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and CI/CD improvements
• Helping improve platform performance, scalability, and reliability

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong Java + Spring Boot experience
• Angular (or strong modern TypeScript framework experience)
• Microservices architecture
• Docker & Kubernetes
• Kafka
• REST API design and integration
• SQL databases (Postgres or MySQL)
• Someone who takes ownership, communicates well, and can work independently

Bonus points if you have experience with:

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Apigee or other API management platforms
• OAuth2, JWT, PKI, LDAP, SAML
• OpenAPI/Swagger
• Federal or DoD/DoW environments
