WL traffic strips
Rubber pneumatic strips (sets of 2) have been placed at least along Salisbury Street in West Lafayette. There is a set on N Grant Street near the Salisbury intersection traffic light. I read these are for gauging traffic use of the roads in addition to speeds.
Other than Robinson Street where drivers/bicyclists regularly roll through/don’t stop at all at the 4 way signed intersection (no light)—what are these useful for? Gauging speeds so close to intersections with lights naturally will reflect slower speeds as drivers are slowing to stop or turn. N Grant Street has few if any drivers doing the posted speed limit. Strips at the crest (at Forest Hill Drive) would tell the tale—but no strips placed(?).
(Incidentally, nearly got rear-ended by a WLPD vehicle the other day as he sped over the hill (then stayed way too close to my vehicle). It seemed apparent he was not on a call. We need patrols to patrol the supposed patrollers.)
