20 mile range?

I'm an Aussie, I took my bike about 35km this morning. Took me about 2 hours, totally in pedelec. Just as I was approaching home the motor stopped helping me, the battery readout reading about 45%. After putting the bike away, I checked a few minutes later and it showed 0%.

Is that normal? How do I factor this in to make sure I don't strand myself? This bike is a dick to ride in acoustic mode!

edit: forgot to mention it's a Soltera 2.5, used in pas 2 for most of the ride and then pushed to pas 4 to help overcome some very strong headwinds.

What am I missing?

I bought this pannier backpack from Amazon, with the intention of putting it on the back of my bike. The arrows show which way gravity naturally pulls the bag down. The top of the image is fine, it never falls off except for the most violent of bumps.

The bottom of the photo shows that gravity wants to pull the clips off the pannier rack, especially if that half of the bag has the heavier load - which it has the laptop sleeve in it, so it kinda does. It always falls off.

I've temp fixed it with a carabiner on that side but what am I missing? How is this supposed to work?

Does anyone use Lime?

So I've been commuting to my local station by bike. I've been frustrated with the walk from the station in the city to my office, because it's slow, boring and uphill.

I considered bringing my bike on the train, but bringing a full sized e-bike on the train in the crush of peak seemed like a dick "that guy" move.

Then I remembered that Lime bikes exist. Signed up for Lime Prime yesterday, and after using the most painful helmet I've ever worn, I took 3 minutes to get from the office to the station (instead of 15) and it was great fun. One of the pedals felt loose but it was fine in the end.

Today I've got my own helmet, but also considered I don't see many other people riding these things.

Does anyone else ride Lime bikes and what's your experience been like?

Curious 4yo asking about train builders

Does anyone work in the train yards that can answer my curious four year olds question?

They're asking me what order trains are built in- do they start with the wheels, do they start with the bodies, etc?

I want to encourage the questions and I have no idea how to answer this question because I don't know and my research has come up dry!

Asshole drivers

Two cars came up from behind me and went into the bike lanes, almost running me down on my commute home today.

It wasn't dark and my bike is lit up like a damn Christmas tree.

That's the rant. That's all
