Pace 5 - sharing with wife?

Hi everyone! I’m considering buying an Aventon Pace 5 and was wondering if my wife and I could realistically share the same bike.
I’m about 5’10.5” and my wife is 5’3”. We wouldn’t be riding at the same time, so adjusting the seat height between rides wouldn’t be a problem.
For anyone familiar with the Pace 5, is there a frame size that could comfortably work for both of us? I’m especially wondering whether the smaller frame would feel too cramped for me or the larger frame would be too big for her.
Would love to hear from anyone around our heights who has actually ridden one. Thanks!

Soltera 2.5 tubeless

After changing yet another flat tire in the heat this afternoon (while FlatOut billows out of the tiny pinprick hole it is supposed to be mitigating) I have to wonder:

Have any of you changed to a tubeless setup?

How did it go and what rims did you get?

I am running pirelli continental gravel m tires at the moment and hoping they are tubeless compatible since they were rather expensive.

What kind of rims are necessary for tubeless? Is it basically just rebuilding the tire with existing spokes and new rims and hopefully my existing tires?

I run tubeless tires on my mountain bike and I've realized how great that setup is after commuting to work on the eBike.

Saddle recommendations

Just purchased an Aventon Soltera 2.5. I love the bike, I’ve done over 30 miles so far. However, my butt really hurts after riding. I’ve done some research that maybe my seat height isn’t correct so I’ll adjust that. But does anyone have any saddle recommendations? This bike also doesn’t have any suspension which may also be a drawback. I appreciate any and all advice!

Panniers for Level 3 recommendations?

Hi all, does anyone have a recommendation for a good fitting pannier on a level 3? The twin pannier in the Aventon shop doesn’t have great reviews and it seems like that is the only current model sold by Aventon that will fit.
Thanks!

Most Flat Resistant Tires for Abound SR?

What's the most flat resistant tires for the Aventon Abound SR on the market? I'm looking to sell my Aventon Level 2 next year, and picking up the Abound SR. Currently on my Level 2, I have the Schwable Marathon E Plus tires. They're beasts. I love them. I did lose one from a MASSIVE piece of metal back in April that would have easily destroyed a car tire. Other than that, no flats for the past year. However, I don't think Schwable makes a 20" tire size for this model of tire. So I wouldn't have them on my future Abound SR.

I live in Kansas City, and good God... the amount of glass and other debris in the bike lanes are insane. So I absolutely need the most flat resistant tires as possible.

What are your suggestions?

My experience with Aventon

Sorry for the rant.

I’m a mostly happy AA2 owner. When the bike works it’s great but around 6 months into owning the bike it became pretty clear something was wrong. The battery would sit at 100% for about an hour of riding then drop insanely fast, I’m talking like 80% in 15 minutes followed by a pretty bad burning smell.

I purchased the bike online from a non local dealer and all of my local private bike shops will not service “department store e-bikes” and the local Aventon dealers will not service bikes they didn’t sell. So I reached out to Aventon and they sent me a wiring harness and a guide. I replaced the harness and still had the problem. They sent me a battery, but the problem persists.

Then the bike developed an e27 error code and the rear motor just stopped working. So that got replaced but they forgot about the battery drain problem. Something is cooking these batteries.

After fussing with Aventon support for days they finally convinced a local dealer to look at the bike. He replaced the computer, the bottom bracket. I Got the bike back and it’s even worse now. I genuinely don’t know how that’s possible. But it’s going full black screen and won’t turn back on unless I take out the battery. All the lights are flickering (like proper strobing) and my chain is crazy loose now and slapping around like crazy. The shop didn’t diagnose anything but put in parts and didn’t even test the bike.

I’ve clearly got a lemon, they’ve sent more parts than the bike is worth. It’s been serviced by a professional chosen by the company. Honestly, I’m just hoping someone at the company reads this and actually gives a damn and helps me get this whole thing situated.

Biggest takeaway though for sure is buy your bikes local.

EDIT: Aventon is exchanging the bike.

Aventure 3 - Good for a heavier rider?

5'10", 330lb. Any heavier riders out there with experience on the Aventure 3? How's it holding up, have you had to do any major repairs? How have the spokes held up? Would you recommend it or something else entirely?

Appreciate any feedback!

Help?

I had ordered the aventure 3 in in stealth as large but then I found out from a friend that I can test ride the bike I went to go test it and found out that the large is a bit too big and the regular size is more comfortable, can anyone at aventon help me fix this size change before my package is shipped out?

Great customer service from Aventon

Just got my Level 4 REC on Friday and two days later I see the Labor Day promotion ad for $200 off some models, including the one I just got. I was kind of annoyed, mostly at myself of course, but I figured it would be worth reaching out to see if there was anything Aventon could do. I wasn't expecting anything since I technically purchased the bike on July 30th and was just waiting for the bike to be delivered.

Just got notified of a $200 refund and an order for the bike lock that's included in the promotion headed my way too. They emailed me back with the details, but I just wanted to post about it because even though that seemed reasonable to me I didn't actually expect it to happen.

It's really refreshing when you come across a company that does the right thing and is happy to do it. Super sold on this brand now and I'm glad I went with the Level 4 REC when comparing other models that were slightly cheaper. Great company!

Aventon Abound LR - few queries

I bought an Aventon LR last year but because of travel etc it sat idle inside my house in an area that has some temperature control (so not exposed to extreme summer heat in summer in California).

Recently started riding it after 14 months of buying it. And now I moved homes so its parked in a garage thats not temperature controlled so the temperature inside garage could be 90 or more when outside is 110 F. Observed these and wanted to know:

  1. Should I take this to bike shop to get it tuned/oiled because it was sitting idle for one year. It was brand new , no miles though it sat idle. Btw mine was assembled by a bike store so am assuming they fine tuned and oiled it before I picked up last year.
  2. Since I parked this in garage for 2 months, I have felt some stickiness in the rubber grips. What can I do to ensure heat doesnt deteriorate this. Any handle covers possible ? Google says wrap it with cloth when not used so there is a layer of insulation.
  3. Headlights - I was riding a trail during dusk with headlights on and the trail uses who were walking found it very bright and shielding their eyes. Did you all adjust the headlights after it came from factory ? I checked the manual but nothing much on headlight adjustment. My headlight beam shines about 30 ft ahead and straight.
  4. Climbing hills - When I use throttle (and dont pedal) to go up hills do I gear down (to make it easy on motor) or keep it high gear.

Note that I had removed the battery when it was in storage and battery was kept indoors.

Level 4 ADV light location

I’m looking for a mid drive ebike for recreation and fun. I think I have it narrowed down to the Level 4 ADV or the Discover M. I’m leaning towards the Level 4 but I’ll know more after I test ride the Discover M later this week.

My biggest issue with the Level 4 is that the tail light / brake light / turn signal is all the way down by the rear axle, so not very visible, where the Discover M has the lights on or just under the rack.

Is there any way to add additional lights to the Level 4 that run off the battery and are activated with the turn signals and brakes?

can people that ride their bike every day to work comment happy thoughts so I can feel better

please just comment your success/happiness stories with ditching car to full time ebike so I can get out of my own head. I 100% believe its the right move objectively no matter what issues i may face but im just extra anxious for no good reason so reading positive stories or anecdotes about something i'm planning to do helps with it alot.

I got an aventure 3, and so far over summer ive already ridden it for 1000 miles! So what the heck is stopping me from doing another 10000 miles!!!

Aventon level 3 pedals won't move forward

This is my first ever e-bike and I don't know how to fix it. Also when I move the pedals back the back wheel doesn't move at all

Edit: I was in 8th gear so I moved it down to 3rd and it moves just fine now, thanks to everyone who helped me figure it out.

Wrong / false ad price

Aventon, or the company running there ads, is currently running a sponsored Facebook ad for the Labor Day sale showing the Level 4 Rec with lock for $1,599, not $1,799. This is causing confusion among customers.

Please either correct the ad or honor the $1,599 advertised price.

Update: Aventon got back to me, they seem to have corrected the ad but no farther discounts or accessories were offered.

Aventon level 2 stepthrough ebike not turning on

I was recently gifted this bike from my grandfather in April , he had the bike for a few years prior to this. I had been riding the bike a lot and everything was working fine until one day I went on a ride and came home, left the bike off for a few hours, then tired to power it back on and it would not turn on. I unplugged the wires in the front and re plugged them, I checked for bent pegs, I did lots of things I was recommended and nothing is working. I tried taking it to a few shops but all of the ones in my area won’t work on this type of bike. The bike has been broken for about 3 weeks now, Any advice ?

Looking at buying Soltera 3

This will be my 3rd Ebike
Previous were all giant talons, chain driven and maintence was time consuming
Looking at the belt driven option as a maintenance free-less option than the chain
Bike is used 99.3% as a commuter to and from work all year round in the PNW
25km round trip a day, 30mins each way

On my commute I have several hills to climb, 8% grade for about 1km is the longest, while the others. Are nothing to complain about

Soltera owners, my question is how is the bike on steepish hill climbs? Slow? Kill battery? Walk? Wish you had a different bike?

Thoughts?

Found this on my evening ride

My city has an amazing greenway system, and my street connects to it. I took an evening ride yesterday and came across this cool underpass, so I grabbed pics of my 2025 Abound SR. (These are the LR panniers)

How long for warranty response?

Like the title said, I put in a warranty ticket for my 3 month old Ramblas ADV. I feel like it’s been about 2 weeks now and I haven’t received any correspondence from Aventon.

The warranty issue is a creaking headset.

Battery dead after 2000 miles

Is this a good range/lifespan? It's been 2 years since I have my Level 2, I charge it once every two weeks, got 2 batteries that I swap at 80%|20%. Use the bike almost daily. The broken battery charges but does not provide much power to the bike (it comes and go, turn off, etc) so I consider it dead.

Do you think there is any possibility to repair it? I'm surprised that it is already dead. I was also expecting Aventon to do more than tell me to buy a new one at full price..
