Color matching and wood ID. I was fixing termite damage. Replaced a board (L) and filled a board (R). I thought it was the same type of oak. Maybe not? I used the same stain on both areas. Thoughts on getting the replaced to be more like the others?

I'm thinking that I should sand the replaced board down and give it some sort of pre-coat that wouldn't allow the grain to get so dark. Any advise would be appreciated besides ripping it out.

Builder said, "I think we left a foundation for a fireplace." While cleaning under the house (treating for termites) in the one corner there is this "Cast Crete". It is one continuous section. Would this be what he was talking about or is this for something else? Tampa FL, if that matters.

I kind of think there was two section but probably only that one. What would be under this Cast Crete? While trenching for termites there was nothing but dirt. I would assume the foundation would be below that?

Are these ridges in the striker channel intentional" This is a M&P45 Shield. Feels like gravel racking the slide.

Can I mellow these out with a high grit paper without loosing functionality?
