It’s lowkey crazy how DR lapped its neighboring countries (Haiti,Jamaica,Cuba and PR) over the past few decades. Do we seen any change of faces in the next few decades who might be the face of the Caribbean?

Has there been any moments in the past where Haiti has tried to rebrand itself?

Reinventing and rebranding Haiti should be the top priority on the list when elections can finally be held on the island imo.

For those of you who are or has married/dated outside of our ethnicity?

How was/has it been dating outside of our culture…Why did you choose to do so? Do our people look down on those who do not marry or date within our culture..? What’s the experience been? Which countries has past/present partners been from that’s made it easy to relate to Haitian culture and our people. Just curious

Haitian Diaspora do you usually get told you have a regional accent when speaking Creole ?

For the most part whenever I speak Haitian Creole and have conversations with natives I always get asked if I’m from O-Kap. Having parents from two different parts of Haiti Nord-Wes and Wes I can pretty much say that I know different dialects of Haitian Creole but I pretty speak the standard dialect of those from O-Kap depending on who I’m around. Does this happen to you as well..?

What are your thoughts on Catholicism and Christianity in Haiti. Haitians are pretty religious most Catholics practitioners delve into Vodou. But in your opinion what has religion done for the Haitian people culturally and historically? Has it been a positive or has it been one of those things that hold the population back ?

When will elections take place?

We were told elections in Haiti were supposed to take place earlier this year but as we know there still hasn’t been any mention of elections so far… The PM and transitional government as we know of it now is still intact. Has there been any update with the new aid of the Chadians who are in place of the current mission in Haiti who replaced the Kenyans earlier this year when their contract expired.

What we did(Haitians) 200 years ago is no longer a factor that helps us economically, governmentally and Socially.

Haitians and the country of Haiti is not treated based off of the accomplishments of what happened 200 years ago. Its led onto being isolated and discriminated against. Modern issues require modern solutions. Papa Desaliñe would be disappointed see what has come of the country that once held so much power and respect(still do by the way). But not in the way we expected and want.

What is with the habit of Haitians calling any and everyone who doesn’t speak Creole “Blan”.

For some reason which I never understood…Whether you are a diaspora, a black, white,Indian, mixed or whatever it is. If you do NOT speak CREOLE our people always have the habit of calling the person a “blan”.. “Sa blan dì la” “Petit Haitian kì fèt na lot nation ou pa pale creole sè yon blan ou yè”… like is this our version of “No Sabo”..? Lmaoo
