"I mean this is just how the British accent works IRL. The British accent is the upper class accent. The lower class accent was lost in Britain as people left for the colonies."

I’m married to a German. They are both obsessed with America and at the same time hate us because of jealousy. They want to consume all things American but don’t want us succeeding at “their” sport

"I wonder why an Irish man would have a dislike for Britain. Real puzzler. Couldn't possibly be anything Britain had done / was doing." [on the American Joe Kennedy]

For context, this is about Joseph P. Kennedy Sr (Father of JFK) who was born in Boston Massachusetts

"I imagine the salty pride of Wrestlemania being held in Ireland before the UK is also fueling this."

Commentator is American and once again thinks there's this big rivalry between the UK and Ireland. As a wrestling fan, I'd be happy for them to get it since it means easier travel for us Europeans (Until TKO go insane with the ticket prices).
