Quit After Six Years
I began employment in 2020, finally the end of April and I officially quit. Great feeling… I have been a seasonal driver for 4 years, without 0 opportunities to become a full time driver. Did the heavy lifting, 13 hour shifts and all the bleeding for years without any additional pay. In addition to making less driving per hour, compared to working inside the building. The most comical thing is when I found a new job & put my two week notice in, my full time supervisor asked if I wanted to become a part-time supervisor.
Got out at a good time, the facility I was in was rapidly declining & management was miserable. Found a new job with great benefits as well using my degrees that UPS paid for when tuition reimbursed was enabled. There are solid opportunities out there career wise, just have to be willing to take a leap of faith and be proactive in searching. You don’t want to be stuck in complacency and end up being a 60yr old part timer who doesn’t think they can get out. The effects of hard labor on your body will be become regretful later in life. Bittersweet departure at 25yr old, that gave UPS 6 years of my life.
