Anyone here considered medical tourism recently?

Healthcare costs in the US are getting insane, especially for dental work, cosmetic procedures, and some surgeries.I recently started researching medical tourism and found a company called American Medical Travel that helps Americans coordinate treatment abroad. Its a US based company I am not sure if its make it any better.

My Experience with American Medical Travel – Honest Review
I wanted to share my experience with American Medical Travel because I was honestly nervous about seeking healthcare abroad at first.
After researching medical tourism for months, I decided to contact them for a consultation regarding treatment options overseas. What stood out immediately was that they didn’t pressure me into booking anything. They explained the process step-by-step, discussed different hospitals, approximate pricing, travel logistics, and what to realistically expect.
Things I personally liked:
Clear communication in English
Fast responses
Help coordinating hospital appointments
Assistance with hotel/transfers
Pricing was significantly lower than what I was quoted in the US
They explained both benefits and risks instead of overselling everything
I also appreciated that they treated it more like a patient coordination service rather than a “vacation package.” The process felt more organized than I expected.
One thing I’d recommend to anyone considering medical tourism:
Do your own research too. Ask questions, compare hospitals, verify credentials, and understand recovery timelines before traveling.
Overall, my experience with American Medical Travel was positive and professional, and I’d recommend at least scheduling a consultation if you’re exploring affordable healthcare abroad.

Has anyone else here used a medical tourism facilitator before? I’d be interested hearing other experiences too.
