All Four Fully Erupted Wisdom Teeth Removal Timeline
Hi. So I had four fully erupted wisdom teeth that were basically riddled with cavities, which was the reason for the removal. As of writing this today is Day 0, aka extraction day. I wanted to write down my personal timeline for those in the future who may want to know what it could be like, as the majority of posts I see on here are either impacted wisdom teeth, or do not say if impacted or erupted.
So. Day 0.
It was okay. I went into the dentists office and shown to the children's section, despite being 24, where I met the oral surgeon and his assistant. They were very nice and with the first four needles of anesthetic the oral surgeon kept saying "sorry, sorry, sorry" as he pushed the plunger thing. Eventually I didn't feel the needles at all and it wasn't that bad. I got local anesthestic only so I was awake for it all.
All four teeth were taken out in roughly 15-30 minutes, which I'm basing on my appointment start time (noon) and the time I saw on my phone when completely done (12:33), so I'm including prep time and the several minutes I was left alone to numb by myself. They had a lot of stuffed animals to stare at though, so I didn't mind. I asked to keep my teeth and the oral surgeon replied, "yeah, it's your teeth." I got my teeth back in a baggie like you see on here. Let's just say they're bad. Cavities are bad.
Before going home I had to grab my prescriptions, being medrol and amoxicillin. Since speaking was difficult, I just used my notes app to convey what I wanted to say to the pharmacy people behind the counter.
It took quite a while for me to actually get my blood clotted, I wanna say 3-4 hours. I took my meds. It's now 7:47pm CST. My fatigue came and went. I have nausea and chills that come and go. My jaw was very sore for a while and right now it's like nothing happened.
