Incoming student here- need help!

Hey guys! Can someone here please help me get in touch with anyone from ASBS - preferably MSc business analytics program?! 👀 doesn’t really have to be a current student- an alumni works too! I just have a few questions.

Thanks!! ☺️

University of Glasgow MSc- amazing opportunity or am I ignoring red flags? 👀🚩🚩🚩

Hey everyone! I recently received offers for the MSc Business Analytics programme at the University of Glasgow and Newcastle University, and I’m feeling quite confused about which one to choose.

For some context: I’m a South Asian woman in my mid-20s, and I’ve never lived alone before. I can also struggle with anxiety at times, so I’d ideally like to study somewhere that feels safe, supportive, and student-friendly. I also occasionally get hives during high fevers/allergic reactions, so having access to support or healthcare nearby is important to me.

While researching the University of Glasgow online, I came across a few concerning posts/comments mentioning things like lack of student support, lecturers not being very approachable, safety concerns in the city, and the university being overly profit-focused. I even saw some people claiming that many of the positive reviews online are not genuine, which honestly made me anxious.

I’d really appreciate hearing from current students or alumni about the actual ground reality:

How supportive is the university really?

How safe does Glasgow feel for international students, especially women?

Are staff/lecturers approachable if you’re struggling academically or personally?

What has your overall experience genuinely been like?

I’d especially love to hear from international students or anyone who moved there alone for postgraduate study.
Thank you so much!

International student who just got into MSc Business Analytics at Glasgow! Need advice 👀

Heyyy everyone! I just got accepted into the MSc Business Analytics programme at University of Glasgow and I’m really excited (and a little nervous honestly 😭)

I wanted to ask if there are any alumni or current students here who could share their experience with the course? What are the professors like, how intense is the workload, and what’s the overall university environment/student life like?
Also, I’m a girl and I haven’t really lived on my own before, so I’d really appreciate any advice about accommodation. Which student accommodations are safest/best for postgrads? Is it better to stay university halls first year or rent privately?
Would love any tips about Glasgow in general too, things you wish you knew before moving there, budgeting, weather, making friends, etc.
Thank you so much 💛

People who studied in the UK: was it worth the money long term? 👀🫣

I’ve received offers for master’s programs in the UK (England/Scotland) (both Russell group btw) and one of them comes with a £10,000 scholarship, but I still haven’t accepted because I’m honestly scared about the financial side of things.

I come from a very limited financial background, so even with the scholarship, this would still be a huge investment for me and my family.

I’m trying to figure out whether a UK master’s is actually worth it in the long run in terms of employability, career growth, networking, ROI, immigration opportunities etc… especially for international students!

For context, I’d likely be studying something business/analytics/sustainability related.
Would you still choose the UK in 2026 if budget and future employability opportunities was a major concern? Or would you recommend considering somewhere else instead like Europe, Canada, or even the US?
I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who’ve studied abroad or gone through something similar. Did it pay off for you financially and career-wise, or do you regret the cost?
