I’ve adapted

You lost that smile you had
That was my innocence lost not my smile

You look so serious
That’s just my focus on the task at hand

You don’t laugh like you used to
I laugh when I need to

And that was the point

And I love every second of the life I have

The loss
The gain

I would live it again in every life

My soul is painted in the rainbow you left marked
My dreams are colored by the moments we held together

These memories aren’t fading like they’re supposed to

Sharper, vivid, on repeat

Steam, fogging the glass

Pushing my limits simply because I can
