Is this normal?

I'm having my first period after 12 years, I had the contraceptive implant. I got it taken out because the Doc suspected PCOS, this is my first period since getting it taken out 5 months ago. My period is so heavy, to the point I'm bleeding through tampon & pad every 2/3 hours and there are loads of blood clots. Is that normal? Someone help please.

Herniated disc symptoms suddenly worse + loss of sensation during sex?

Hi, 30F. I’ve had a slipped/herniated disc since September 2024 and have been taking 30mg dihydrocodeine for pain since then. I’ve also been seeing a physio since January 2026.

Over the past 3 weeks something seems to have changed with my lower back symptoms. Me and my husband went on holiday recently, and on the flight home we had really bad turbulence. Since then I’ve started getting pain down BOTH legs (before it was only my left leg). My knees constantly feel bruised/achey, and both my legs and feet have tingling sensations.

I went to the doctor and they said they think the disc may now be pressing on both nerves instead of one. They told me to continue the dihydrocodeine and also prescribed ibuprofen gel.

Tonight me and my husband had sex for the first time since the holiday, and during penetration I basically couldn’t feel anything internally. That’s never happened to me before and it really freaked me out. My genitals themselves don’t feel numb externally, and I still have control of my bladder and bowels, but the sudden loss of sensation during sex scared me.

I do sometimes get pelvic pain during sex anyway, but this was completely different.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with a herniated/slipped disc? Did it end up being nerve related? I’m trying to work out whether this is something I should contact the doctor about tomorrow or whether I’m panicking over nothing.
