Looking for like-minded music/rave friends in London (deep techno, leftfield/breaks..)
Hey! I’ve been meaning to post this for a while… 28F, been living in London for almost a year now. Thought I’d try my luck here finding some rave buddies & music friends with similar taste :)
I’m a pretty ordinary working student but music is honestly my biggest interest (I DJ and produce for hobby) I’ve met quite a few music folks in London but somehow haven’t come across that many people whose taste really overlaps with mine.
I did meet a great rave mate through Reddit last year but sadly they’re leaving London pretty soon (guess that’s something I should get used to in a city where people constantly come and go) 🥲 I’ve joined a few WA groups for finding rave mates as well, but even there people's music taste seems pretty fragmented honestly.
I’m mainly into deep/dub/groovy techno, IDM-ish experimental stuff, and leftfield breaks & jungle. Not really into big-room, overly cinematic techno or melodic/progressive house-ish stuff. With breaks/jungle, I tend to prefer the more leftfield side rather than classic UK DnB. Love labels like Ilian Tape, Mutual Rytm, Delsin, R&S Records, Livity Sound, Faux Poly (recently caught my eye!) and some of my fav artists I’ve seen in London so far are Skee Mask, Djrum, Shed, Wata Igarashi, Otik, Polygonia and Peverelist. I’ve had my best nights at FOLD, MOT, Corsicas, etc but I choose nights based more on the artists than the venues.
