Blurry

Blurry

So I just got mine and rigged it up, same cable and hdmi port (4k) as the a3d I have. It is set to clean/clear (forgot the exact name) why is it so blurry? its like running through an av cable on mario 64 - the difference between them is night and day. I am hoping I am missing a setting but its not looking good atm.

It looks smudgy and just.. not nice. Even A3d on default settings is way different so im confused. Some pics attached - this is a 4k screen, the pixels are all blurred out even on clear setting. A3D isnt like this at all on its clear setting. I dont expect upscaling like an emulator but again its not like the A3D output at all (even without the horizontal upscaling on)

Its not the n64 look I am on about, its the picture itself - I have played real n64, a3d so I know what to expect but this seems just wrong.

TLDR: it doesn't match what the Analogue 3D outputs for clean so unsure why? It looks like im using a cheap upscaler from amazon that cost under £5

Why so inaccurate compared to A3D and N64

Seeing videos now of side by side of all of them, Mod retro fails in donkey kong (dk dies in the intro gameplay instead of getting across the vines), lags behind on mario 64 and also star fox. Why? This seems like a huge problem. Games are also crashing or freezing.
