Anthurium hybrids

Hi everyone,
Prices are in the photo. Each plant has a letter assigned to it. You'll see triple as a parent in some of these. The cross was too long for the photo so it's just labeled triple. The triple parent is (Block F2 x magnifican) x moronense. Shipping is available. If you are in NYC, I can meet local. I produced all of these plants myself.

Another monarch visit

Don't mind my dog in the background. He was barking from the window because I wouldn't let him out to chase a squirrel while I filmed.

Swallowtails!

I was saying in another post how I haven't seen many butterflies this season in my yard. Checked my seed grown dill plant this morning and we have cats! There's at least 10. I planted golden Alexander's this spring but they are still quite small. So I'm going to buy a few more organic dill plants. Adding an aerial view pic of our prairie garden.

Agastache foeniculum

Two years ago I sowed a prairie mix from prairie moon. I've been on the lookout in my garden for all of the plants that were in that mix. I was disappointed I hadn't seen an anise plant yet. I figured they didn't take and ordered some seeds to winter sow for next year. Today this plant caught my eye when I was looking through my native garden. I hadn't noticed it before. I was like what is that 😅. Of course it turned out to be Agastache foeniculum 🤣. It's also in front of my Monarda. This is where I was planning to put them after winter sowing the new seeds. I may have to give the new seeds to a friend as I hear they are prolific seeders.

Native bee observation

Caught a native bee getting nectar from extrafloral nectaries on Chamaecrista fasciculata. That was a new observation for me. Not the best pics because I didn't want to spook the bee. Added arrows to highlight the bee and nectaries. Last pic is of the plants. They're growing quite fast.

Foliage appreciation

This time of the year is a great time to look at all the foliage before the blooms come in. I know the flowers are often the stars but these are some cool leaves. NYC, 7b

Some pics of my plants (NYC 7b)

I really love this time of the year. There's so much plant growth and insect life. I could spent all day in my yard.

  1. Heliopsis helianthoides
  2. Solidago speciosa
  3. Silphium terebinthinaceum
  4. Diervilla lonicera
  5. I believe this is a type of Rudbeckia
  6. Monarda fistulosa
  7. Pycnanthemum virginianum
  8. Lilium michiganense
  9. Carpenter bee on Viburnum dentatum flowers

Senna hebecarpa

I thought the squirrels dug these up. So happy to see them where they were planted last year. Can't wait for them to grow to their full size.
