What's your funniest fart moment?

Ok, yes this is incredibly lowbrow. But my sense of humour stopped developing when I was 11, so here we are.

I read a thread somewhere else about embarrassing moments and there was an offshoot about farting and it made me proper chuckle. And I think if you have that kind of sense of humour, you will remember your favourite time very well.

Mine was around 5 years ago. I was working with two other guys that I knew fairly well and we were driving around visiting different businesses.

It was a really hot day and I had quite dodgy guts. Just as we arrived at our next stop and about to get out of the car, my bottom opened and I let rip. Fortunately, the others had already exited, so I waited a few seconds and got out. We locked the car and off we went.

The meeting took about 20 minutes and off we hurriedly went back to the car. We jumped in and my god, it absolutely stank. The smell had got trapped in there and the sun had only seemed to make it worse. My colleagues had thought we had left some kind of rotting food in there. But the child I am, I laugh too much and had to admit what it was.

We had to decamp and wait several minutes with the doors wide open.

I'm still shocked at how that smell stuck around for so long. And a little proud.

What's the biggest/best lie you've been told?

You may have seen it in the news, but there's a professor at Cambridge who is now being accused of all sorts of lies. The latest appears obviously not true.

It made me wonder: what's the biggest (and possibly stupidest) lie you've been told?

I had a colleague at work who swore by the fact that he was twelfth in line to the throne in Denmark. This went on for years and he would trot it out every couple of months. Which obviously earned him the nickname The King of Denmark.

I guess it could have been believable as a one-off. But he was one of those constant liars. Other things I can remember are that he saved somebody from a burning tank and he could swim two lengths of an Olympic swimming pool holding his breath.

So, any better ones? And no, quotes from Jay from The Inbetweeners do not count!

Do you break wind in front of your other half?

I did want to write "before your other half", just so we could have jokes about it depending on whose turn it was...

Anyhow, I have been with my wife for almost 30 years. However, we don't fart in front of each other. It's happened very occasionally, but I'm mortified when it does.

Yet, I'm happy to fart away next to colleagues or my kids.

I think it goes back to being a gentleman when we started going out and then it became a habit. And, if I'm being honest, I would hate my wife to do it in front of me, as I'd find it a bit of a turn-off.

But speaking to couple friends, they happily parp away together. So, are we weird?
