Booked AA business class, but 2 segments posted as economy to Qatar Privilege Club — anyone experienced this?
I booked an AA itinerary originally in I-class business class and credited it to Qatar Airways Privilege Club. During the trip, AA had delays and rebooked me into J-class business on some flights.
Here’s the strange part:
Total 5 segments
3 segments posted correctly with business-class Qpoints and Avios
2 segments posted as economy only
When I check the ticket and boarding passes, the flights clearly show business class (I/J class). However, Qatar Airways is telling me the fare basis starts with “Q,” so the system treats it as economy.
What confuses me is: if that’s true, why did the other 3 segments already credit correctly as business class?
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is this an AA ticketing issue, a QR Privilege Club issue, or something that needs manual adjustment?
I’ve already contacted both AA and QR and keep getting bounced back and forth.
Any advice would be appreciated.
