Can I get diagnosed with ADHD with a 6–8k budget?

Hi! F22, graduating student here. For context, I’ve been aware of my symptoms since I was 14, but I never had the chance to seek professional help because of life’s demands, especially financial incapability.

I’ve done extensive research on mental health conditions, and I also majored in Psych (ironic, right?), ADHD seems to be the closest explanation for many of the debilitating experiences I’ve had.

I’m currently reviewing for the board exams, which I’ll be taking in August, and honestly, I’m scared. The symptoms feel worse lately, probably because of the pressure, along with the persistent feelings of incompetence and self-distrust whenever I fail to follow my supposedly (non-existent) routines.

What makes it even scarier is that I feel like it’s starting to affect my relationships with other people. My self-esteem has gotten so low that I think it’s already projecting onto the way I treat them. And I hate every second of it because I’m aware that I shouldn’t be acting that way, but it’s becoming so hard to regulate my emotions. I always feel restless because there’s still so much I need to fix and accomplish, especially with PRC requirements and graduation coming up.

The problem is that I only have around 6k–8k extra money available for the entire process. I’m unemployed at the moment, and balancing work with board review honestly feels impossible because reviewing alone already consumes most of my mental energy.

What best course of action would you recommend?
