Here's everything you need to know about formats and where to buy them in India.

Comic Formats Explained

Compact Edition — ₹400–₹800

Smaller-sized paperbacks. The most budget-friendly way to start reading DC.

Single Issue — ₹200–₹800

Individual comics (~30–40 pages each). You'll need multiple issues to complete a story.

Trade Paperback (TPB) — ₹800–₹1,500

Collects one full story arc. The sweet spot for most new readers.

Hardcover (HC) — ₹2,000–₹4,000+

Like a TPB but sturdier, often includes bonus content.

Omnibus — ₹5,000–₹8,000+

Massive hardcovers collecting entire long runs. Great value, but heavy and expensive.

Note on Single Issues: Most are ₹200–₹800, but key issues (first appearances, major events, low print runs, signed copies) can go ₹2,000–₹8,000+.

The Purple Skull Comics (Instagram) — Latest DC singles like Absolute Batman, Batman Relaunch, etc. Well-stocked but pricier.

Offline Stores

Midland Book Store — South Extension I, New Delhi. Paperbacks, omnibuses, compact editions.

Crossword — They have many stores in Pune & Delhi.

Book World — Deccan Gymkhana, Pune.

Second-Hand Comics - One of the most affordable ways to build your collection is by buying second-hand comics, especially expensive editions like Omnibus books.

You can find them on Discord servers, Facebook Marketplace, or comic subreddits.

Always verify condition and authenticity before buying. Watch out for scammers.
