According to some"trollers" online, James Gunn and Supergirl director Craig Gillepsie were not getting along, according to the latest THR report. But that is not the case.
Both the cuts (Director and Studio's) were not so great, scoring in 60s in test screenings. Only things different is that director's cut had 11 minutes of extra scenes, mostly of the villain, and a different song in the end. I don't think that would have made a huge difference.
BUT while like James Gunn's work and wants more of him as a director, he really need to spend more time now as THE DC Studios head.
This excerpt from THR report explain it well:
"But Supergirl’s failure does put a scrutinizing spotlight on Gunn, who has positioned himself as the face of the company as no other studio head has before, thanks to his prodigious output on social media and comments in the press about quality control.
Other studio heads, such as Marvel’s Kevin Feige or Warners’ Pam Abdy, are known to get vigorously involved in the post-production process. But none are filmmakers making their own movies while also running, or co-running, a major studio division."
For my defence, i really tried to draw her, but damn! Beautiful women are so hard to draw (by the grace of Jackson Dawson) but I was pretty conflicted on how to proceed with the suit. For starters I really wanted to go with the Catwoman from 1987with the raw grey colour but that didn't work, thought to go with the absolute one but.. you know a post for another day. So rn is a blend of injustice tactical, with 1987 like features and the jacket because why not! And I made it like a way back when I uploaded the batman one but couldn't finish it due to unforeseen reasons so here it is.. The next will arrive soon but I can't reveal it because I FEAR it will spoil the surprise (get it? FEAR ... SCARECROW! Okay fine..)

Do you think there is a market for Indian comics, and if so do you think it could work offline? Or it can only exist online?

After loving Superman last year and being hyped for all things James Gunn has in store, I thought Supergirl can become a surprise banger.
However, the trailers were so mid, that I lowered my expectations, but the movie was still below average.
I compare it to Marvel's Captain Marvel (2019), both had great casting, with Brie Larson there and Milly Alcock here. Both did put a lot of effort in their roles and the space battle scenes were really theatre-worthy.
BUT the script was so bad. There were pacing issues, random cuts, plain villain, jokes that don't land and so on.
LOBO was fun but 50% of the time it felt like he was just there for the fan service, even though he could have been given a bigger role in the plot.
I think the one thing writers miss with female superhero movies is they try to make them COOL and not that relatable or "human".
The best example is Wonder Woman (2017) where they really made Diana a "hero" in the story with how silly she was in the begining, then fought for something she believed in, made mistakes, fought like a warrior, accepted a sacrifice and had a full character development.
Still, I like Milly as Supergirl and Superman too (he is such a perfect casting), so expecting a banger in MAN OF TOMORROW.🤞

As I had the only ticket 🥺 They would not screen for only one person
just 4 other people in the entire theatre which i must say is still good enough for the type of people here that larp as Marvel Fans and still argue about Marvel Vs DC
I give this movie a solid 9/10 in my own opinion, the only thing i didnt like was the music in the battle scene, it was very out of place
I went to the theatre with my mom and she liked it a lot, she said this movie was way better than anything she could've expected
