Hi all, im currently at a crossroads in my life and need advice as to what career path could be suitable for me. I was diagnosed with a condition in my late 20's which affects my mobility and it is becoming increasingly worse and no possible solution. I'm now in my early 30s and do not have any specific skill or qualification that I could depend on for my future. Initially I intended to learn a trade and become self employed but I think the reality of my condition will prevent me from doing that long term.
Disability
I now have a chronic condition which makes it painful to walk continuously. I can walk short distances throughout the day fine and even standing for a good portion of the day so I am not completely immobile by any means. I can pick up heavy items fine but not walk with them. If the pain was guarenteed to stay at this level then I would have given a trade a shot however I don't think this will be the case.
Past and current work history
I currently work at a large supermarket chain and previously have owned a small cafe for 6 years which we had to close shortly after covid. I only have qualifications upto A Levels.
My requirements
I'd like to learn a skill which can allow me to be self employed aswell if I choose to be.
For the role to have a direct path from the training to the actual role.
to be a role that is in demand
25,000 minimum salary requirement
Other considerations:
I have the availability to take a course part time.
I do like working with my hands hence why doing a trade was perfect for me.
Many thanks in advance!!
