Looking for ideas for a destination joint celebration for our 70th Birthday in 2027
I am fortunate to have four terrific girlfriends and we have known each other since seventh or eighth grade. We all graduated from high school in a small town in Pennsylvania in 1975. At first, we kept in touch with handwritten letters. Over the years, between moving all over the country, careers, marriage, children, etc., we somehow lost touch.
I managed to track one person down and then we found the other two about three years ago and we met on a road trip. It was amazing! We picked up right where we left off. No one really knows you better than friends that you literally developed into adults with you together.
We now get together at least once or twice a year for a long weekend. Everyone came to my home this last weekend and we had a fabulous time as we always do. It is a very safe place for all of us to talk about anything and everything and reminisce and relive the old days and then discuss the challenges of the changing times. Since we all will be turning 70 and 2027 it was suggested that we all do a “Destination Celebration” and we all agreed to do so.
Anyone else in a similar situation with old friends that have done trips together? I would love to hear some suggestions for some trips. Some of the places that were discussed were Toronto, Portland, Maine, Lake George in New York.
