Hi for some reason when I compile my ROM the changes I make don't show up such as new files disappearing or asm files reverting back to what they were beforehand would anyone know what's going on?

Hi there I just came to this subreddit as I am searching for ways to romhack gen 2 as I want to make a pokemon game with GSC's engine, but searching for appropriate tools has been challenging and I'm wondering how I would go about it
