Kitten fascinated with water

Just wanted to share this because I think it's pretty neat ☺️

He's now 11 months old and I adopted him at the beginning of February. Even at the shelter, he had a natural fascination with water, the shelter had posted videos of him digging and emptying his water bowl.

Once at my home, he continued that behavior, which is not super great to have to clean up a whole bowl of water off my floor. And it's really not that he tipped the bowl over, but that he liked playing with the water in it. Other fascinations that he developed was to watch me wash dishes and flush the toilet, which is also not super great to have him dig into. 😅

I realized most of it got under control by ensuring he gets enough of play to drain his energy, but i also thought it was a neat quirk for a cat to be so interested by water, and so i have been integrating enrichment activities that involve it. Also this way, he can explore his interest and get it out of his system in a less destructive way. I leave it all to his free will whether he wants to get in or not, but i am constantly but slowly trying to challenge him more and more to keep it interesting, and we re at this point now ☺️
