My public apology to The Lost Crown
Sands of Time was the first game I got obsessed with. I played it at my cousin's house and would skip school and sneak out of my house to go visit him and play more lol. I was dreaming about it at night and when I finally got it for myself, I played it like crazy! Anyway...you get the point. I was OBSESSED
I loved the entire trilogy, I loved 2008 as well, also Forgotten Sands(but less) and went back and played the OGs too which I liked but..not as much and never finished them. I've been feening for more PoP for years and years
When The Lost Crown got announced, I was so happy that the series is not dead anymore, but it wasn't what I truly wanted. Let's be honest the first trailer was extremely underwhelming. The artstyle was not my cup of tea and for me looked like a mobile game. I was sad to see my childhood favorite series being reduced to 2D small games(even tho that's it's origin but still)
I didn't buy the game, and when it came to PS Plus, I played 1 hours and dropped it. It didn't feel like PoP to me. But after going through another SoT marathon recently I gave it one more shot.....still not impressed with the intro but I pushed through and holy shit...
It just kept getting better and better. As the map opens up, as you get more abilities and see more of the story unfolding, the familiar vibes start to come back. The parkour is awesome, the world is very interesting, the map is becoming one of my favorite of any metroidvania, and above all, this is definitely Prince of Persia! It has it's own unique style but the roots of what I love about this series is here.
I can't belive that all this time there was a great PoP game and I completely neglect it while complaining the series is doomed. I feel really stupid and I'm leaving this here in case anyone else didn't try it yet, or gave up on it in the early game. Please, please do yourself a favor and give this an honest chance. It's great!
