NPS & DCI, grow some spine and arrest this foolish man! Anyone planning harm against this republic and it's citizens must be subject to severe punishment.

There's no version of my pathetic little existence where I'd ever consider living in Europe or live among white people, not a chance. This person was all over my social media feed over plagiarism scandal, media outlet after media outlet. And now he's dead.

[earlier today]. The exact wording here is troubling. A president who filled his head with delusions that he and only he can be Kenya's "savior".

Hawa watu wanatuona ****. Also, the terror and violence in Ol Kalou was completely unnecessary and was clearly intended to suppress turnout and intimidate. By the look of things it backfired spectacularly.

Congratulations to the people of ol Kalou for staying strong and united during today's unfortunate events

Ruto definitely has to go in 2027, all rational Kenyans agree on that. But we also have to agree that our elected leaders are sometimes worse even. We have to start electing better leaders across the board!

32 pc isn't great for Ruto but still a long way to go.

Infotrack usually misunderstands the Kenyan electorate by around 5-8% points, which is normal-ish in the polling world where a SD of that magnitude isn't strange. Their surveys though have to be taken by a grain of salt.

But it's best to understand the situation we are in. Only Ruto is a presidential candidate, the rest haven't yet declared. This means, whatever respondents say about Ruto is accurate to around 5 percentage points and when an opponent is eventually agreed upon, it may only hurt him further or aid him a little.

Going by this poll, Ruto will settle at around 30-40% range, which means the other contender should comfortably win by 55-65%. I honestly don't see the race tightening in favor of Ruto. And this is a damning verdict as to the general feeling around the country.

That said, 1 year is a long time in politics, every candidate's fortunes may see drastic changes, and we'll see how things unfold as we inch closer to the actual election.

This is both dangerous and sad

Our youths have become pawns in the political theatre. No jobs, no healthcare, no future. Just being misused around by the highest bidder. More concerning is the increase in cases of state sponsored terror.

I learnt the hard way to not trust a Kenyan with money. This isn't a stereotype. Our culture glorifies "ujanjaness". I don't know if it's because of poverty that almost everyone is looking for a way out, usually via illegal, shortcut means.

Why arrest peaceful protestors though? And on Saba Saba of all days. I hate how plainly obvious it is that our law enforcement agencies lack basic common sense.

This is as idiotic as the Uhuru-Matiangi era law of taxing bettors when in reality it's common sense worldwide to tax ONLY betting companies because of how they set up their odds to disadvantage bettors. Most of Kenya's fiscal/revenue policies lack basic economic theory. We can't develop like this

To CS Ogamba: It is time to use some common sense and send students home for halfterm break. Convene an urgent crisis meeting to address the arson issue.

Mr Duale, Kenyans don't have a problem with ebola preparedness. Kenyans have a problem with importing ebola into the country because once it sets foot, it'll never leave. Americans understand this simple simple logic, why don't you?

On a second thought, Duale is just an idiot.

Kenya once again shocks the world and for stupid reasons: Even the Kenyan president congratulated the English football side Arsenal referring to them as "We".

A whole nation CANNOT be this obsessed with another country's football league. I wrote about this here in the past and people bashed me.

Football is one of the easier sports to play, and Kenya has abundant of talent. The scenes across kenya today should worry anyone concerned about the advancement of this continent. Not only did the Kenyan president congratulate the English club, virtually all Kenyan politicians and prominent people did.

We can't be perennially consuming White television programs and films, obsessed with White people's football, use their technology (me using Reddit), depend on them creating medicine to keep us alive, build for us roads, adopt their education systems, buy their finished products while exporting raw materials to them,, etc, and expect to develop this continent.

I would totally understand Arabs celebrating a European football club winning a title since they own a number of those clubs, I understand Chinese, I understand Indians, I understand Americans. What I don't understand is why an African would be this obsessed. To an extent Africans are now haggling over what European team to support in the upcoming WC despite Africa having 10 representatives in that tournament.

Where's the pride? Are we so pathetic we are incapable of basic thought? Instead of the obsession, why not learn from their successes and implement them here at home. Shame on all Kenyan European football club fans!!

Paternal defilement in family setups where the mom is absent is on the rise and it's concerning

I have a friend who works for an NGO in Greater Western Kenya (LREB) and he's told me in the past one month they've handled cases of defilement involving a father and daughter on 3 separate occasions.

What's worrying is the third case was discovered when a 9 year old girl who was getting defiled by the father confided in another child 10 years what the father has been doing, giving her gifts cash, in exchange for raping her basically and threatening her not to do anything. Turns out the 10 year old was also getting defiled and the 10 year old advised the 9 year old to just accept the gifts since her father has been doing the same thing, something which according to the 10 year old is normal. It took observant teachers to realize something was wrong and they took action which led to arrests even as the families wanted the issue sorted out of court so that the adults could avoid jail time.

In all cases, the mother is absent. First one, the mom separated with the father who is a drunkard who also kind of provides. She left the daughter and another boy with the dad and the dad has been defiling the daughter for quite some time now. Second case orphan, third case mom is away to work as a maid in the big city.

This might be indicative of a deeper underlying problem in society and I don't have the qualifications to analyze the situation accurately but I would caution women to be careful leaving their young daughters with the father, even if such cases are ultimately rare. Make sure you understand your partner well. Of course girls get defiled even when the mom is around. But I don't think 3 cases in a month, and many more involving a child whose mom isn't around is something to ignore.

Let's protect our girls.

I'm a 31 year old millennial. Each time I tell Gen Zs that, they think I'm like 80. They literally think I'm their agemate until I say otherwise, then they behave as if I'm a grandpa. I'm literally 2 years older than some of you!

People are weird about these generation stuff, it's crazy.
