The painfully slow running….

I’m currently in the painfully slow running period. I did not experience this when I first read TfNA and TfUA 5 and 10 years ago and started trying to train this way.

4 years ago I started having some knee trouble, and running fell of in favor of skiing hiking and biking. now I’ve have two spine surgeries in the last 2 years and am clawing my way back slowly.

I just moved past run/walk intervals and into 20+ minute runs, with the rest of my base training walking or on a bike. on flat pavement my AeT pace seems to be around 13:30 per mile. it’s running but barely!! I’m seeing solid progress and I know this works, but you know, it’s slow

Side note I’m using Suunto Zonesense and really happy with it. it’s in the same ballpark as drift testing, with some changes that seem to make sense when I’m tired. it’s also nice since I’m doing 3 or more sports all the time to not feel like I need to test constantly for all to sports.

TLDR: Running this slow is hard, but I know it will pay off.

Next version of the 970

it's got friction shifters and hydraulic brakes now, what have I done!

So an uncle sent over a bitchin set of crossmax 26” disc only wheels, and I had to put them to use. I had a set or brakes in the parts bin, and bought a rear adapter. sin committed. if the setup is great I’ll get proper mounts added out back.

I’m sure some of you will roast me, but fun with bikes!

New Hampshire sucks.

The gravel roads just keep going forever in these woods that just have like trees and animals and stuff.

Obviously sarcasm and it’s great here. haven’t posted this bike here yet.

Vermont sucks.

The title is sarcastic. This is a picture from a lovely ride. 5 miles to a creemee. 8 more to some flow trails. 5 back to meet a friend for a beer.

Weekly total time in zones defined by Zonesense?

Does anyone know of a way within the Suunto App to see time in zone as defined by Zonesense measurements?

The screenshot is the tab where I can see what I want according to HR zones. I can also see this breakdown by power etc, but not by ZS.

Im finding ZS to be really useful as a multi sport athlete, hiking running and multiple versions of biking, to capture zone that better match RPE and VT1 feeling than HR. I want to then be able to see what percentage of my time I am spending in my aerobic zone for the week. For example if it’s a base week I want to quickly check that I slipping above the aerobic zone for less than 10% of training.

M bet is that even though ZS is awesome, it’s not getting rolled into everything since it’s getting limited adoption
