For anyone trying to immerse themselves in Chinese, I made this Lockscreen widget

It’s a free Lockscreen widget that shows you daily Chinese words, or HSK3.0 vocabulary from HSK1-6, just in case someone want to immerse themselves in Chinese every time they check their phone) and you can hear native mandarin pronunciation too.

The app is on AppStore called Dumpling Chinese, enjoy! https://apps.apple.com/app/dumpling-chinese/id6775164178

Chinese lockscreen widget, and everyone should use it for free

Since I saw people charging lots of money for this Chinese Lockscreen widget, I made one with widgets showing the latest HSK3.0 vocabulary, from HSK1-6, for free. Also added native authentic pronunciation instead of those robotic ones, plus many other study features like smart SRS flashcards/ HSK levels reading/daily quiz etc. The app is called Dumpling Chinese on AppStore. https://apps.apple.com/app/dumpling-chinese/id6775164178

Let me know if you have any feedback and I will keep improving it! 感谢大家支持🙏

I made an iPhone app to help my girlfriend review HSK vocabulary — looking for honest feedback

Hi everyone!

I’m from China, and my girlfriend is currently learning Mandarin. While helping her study, I noticed that remembering and regularly reviewing HSK vocabulary was one of the most frustrating parts for her.

So I started building a small iPhone app called Dumpling Chinese. It now covers HSK 1–6 vocabulary and includes flashcards, example sentences, pronunciation, daily quizzes, short graded stories, notes, and Lock Screen widgets for casual review throughout the day.

One thing I’ve paid particular attention to is making the example sentences and pronunciation feel natural and useful in everyday Chinese, rather than sounding overly formal or textbook-like.

The app is still very new, so I’m mainly hoping to hear from other Chinese learners:

Does this kind of vocabulary-focused app seem useful to you?
Which features would you actually use?
Is there anything you often find missing from existing HSK apps?

Honest criticism is completely welcome. I’m planning to keep improving it based on feedback from learners.

For anyone interested in trying it, it’s called Dumpling Chinese on the App Store. Here’s the link:

I built an HSK 3.0 vocabulary app with Lock Screen widgets — looking for feedback

Hi everyone!

I’m Bob from China, and my girlfriend is currently learning Chinese. While helping her study, I noticed that reviewing HSK vocabulary consistently was one of the hardest parts, so I built a small iPhone app for her.

It’s called Dumpling Chinese, and it covers the latest HSK 3.0 vocabulary from HSK 1 to HSK 6.

It includes Lock Screen widgets, natural Mandarin pronunciation, example sentences, flashcards, daily quizzes, graded stories, and notes taking for reviewing words throughout the day. Also as a native speaker, I’ve tried to make the pronunciation and example sentences sound natural(instead of robotic) and useful in everyday Chinese rather than overly textbook-like.

The app is mostly free to use and is still very new, and I plan to keep improving it based on feedback.

I’d really appreciate any honest thoughts, especially about what feels useful, confusing, or missing.
谢谢大家!
